i got mixed feelings on this one... over all though i think Pernetti was a good AD.. so i guess i lean a little to the side of bringing him back because he puts football first... and football being the biggest sport in america, have a good team? making money

This message board is like a strange vortex. The guy who was completely unqualified to be an AD, who nearly ruined both football and basketball programs by his wildly incompetent decisions, is widely loved and seen only as a victim.

People who have done their job well, and been nothing but good for Rutgers, are hated.

While we are at, it bring back Pernetti...IMO lost his job after a witch hunt.

No. Worst AD ever at RU. Hired the known loose cannon Rice and failed to fire him when he should have, leading to one of the most embarrassing scandals in RU's history, then hired Flood, who started the decimation of everything that Greg built. Gets minor credit for being here when the B1G invite came, but that was in the works for many years.

Pernetti lost his job after everyone he reached out to told him not to touch Rice with a 10 foot pole but he ignored the advice and hired Rice anyway. He has much of the pig headedness trait Hobbs has. Mr know it all.

TP hired flood who was 9-4 and won a share of the conf when he was still The AD. Anything that happens once he was gone is not on him.

Rice was considered a good hire. He was fired for inappropriate behavior based on the tapes from 2010 and 2011. K-Mac was responsible for basketball and never told TP anything.

He fully funded wrestling and pushed for SKWC.

Hired Brecht

Increased funding in both soccer programs

Led the $100M athletics fundraising campaign, that endowed more scholarships than ever before

Reduced the subsidy

Secured the first ever exclusive apparel deal with Nike netting athletics $5m

pretty sure he did a good job.

Tim is doing well at Endeavor (formerly IMG). He totally got screwed at RU - gave the recommended punishment and if it wasn’t for assbags like Jay Bilas on his soapbox, he would still be here and so would GS. I guess Jay Bilas ignored all the crap that Roy Williams and Bill Self did because UNC and Kansas have swag and RU does not.

Thanks for playing Tim - perhaps the worst analysis of Pernetti's failed tenure at RU ever written.

Barchi has 6 months to go. There is zero chance he gets fired and zero chance TP works one second for him

this thread should be deleted. it discredits the fans who pushed Rutgers back to the table with Greg. we should assume we're under the microscope here. This isn't our safe port to good off with goofy ideas.

for all those naysayers Pernetti did GREAT after leaving RU -he was respected by those that spend $ on good people (bac is wrong as usual about successful people) and easily got key leadership jobs, one with the Yankees soccer club and then as the leader of IMG, made tons after the merger with Learfield and guess what ..if he could Schiano would hire him back as RU's AD
