He could probably get a job as the Georgia Bulldog Mascot.

Never thought Kelly was a good coach. I’m sure Notre Dame was glad he left. But man, it’s risky now being a head guy at a high profile school. Now you get let go in the middle of the season if you under perform.

Almost like they are super high paying jobs… with expectations. Weird

LSU is formulating a plan to rid themselves of him.

I don’t know what these teams expect, but there aren’t very many coaches out there worth a damn. It’s like the year of Frank Solich all over again, but on steroids.
A lot of good coaches going to be available...can you imagine getting a coach with a 70% winning percentage in the SEC or a guy whose team nearly made the national title game in the first playoff? Both fired in shame. This is the predictable transition from recruit-based football which has lasted so long to NIL, pay 2 play, transfer at will football...more parity means teams will go on losing streaks like in the NFL, but there isn't a 17 game season to get hot at the end. And unbalanced schedules mean you might get 4 top 10 teams while another guy gets none.

I don’t recall a year with so many high profile schools with Head Coaching vacancies. There are definitely more firings to come by season‘s end also. I think many schools will be disappointed with their new hires because I think demand is greater than the supply of uber talented coaches available.

I said from the start creating these super conferences are going to create situations where 8 or 9 wins is going to be considered like an 11 win season. These schools are going to have to allow any coach to have a down year every 4 or 5 years.

Brian Kelly wasn't a perfect fit. But a pretty darn good ball coach. They just lost to potentially the best or second best team in the SEC.

There are sure a lot of high profile schools that fired coaches this fall, I wonder if some school brings a bag of cash for Cig a amount he couldn’t turn down

in all fairness solich was between a rock and a hard place....taking over a team that won 3 out of 4 NC's and dan and buck fumbling all over the place.

This is honestly crazy.. The college football world just isn't ready for the age of NIL and mega conferences. Dude loses to the #3, #7, and #9 teams in the country, with two of those being one score games and gets canned?
they just need to hire deon like everyone else....no wait, cig...they just need to hire cig like everyone else

Frank Solich's last year record was an aberration partly due to an easy schedule. The program went from the top of the mountain to a middling program under his watch. People will never acknowledge that we were sliding fast and the coaching hires he made after the prior year's 6-6 record (with the exception of Bo) were not good. PSU was very bad that year. Kansas St had eclipsed us as a program under his watch. That shouldn't have happened under any circumstances.
That said, the expectations now are just completely bonkers. Penn St went to the final four last year and was a good program under Franklin. The attitude seems to be that you win a NC or else.
