He has RU ranked 25 but ole miss at 15. Nationally it’s worse but I don’t understand how anyone can have this ole miss team ranked period. It’s just preseason bias.

Ole Miss’s wins are Furman, middle Tennessee, wake forest, and Georgia southern. Their loss is a home loss to Kentucky and Gavin wimsatt.

On the pod he talks about the strength of schedule but then ranks ole Miss 15. Intellectually dishonest at best. How is this remotely defensible, other than “hey everyone else is doing it.”

I see your point but UK also only lost to Georgia by a point so I don’t see how you could penalize a team that’s beaten everyone else they played by 40+ that much for this one loss.

Out of 63 or so pollsters, only 11 have Ole Miss lower than Fonseca so he's towards the bottom of everyone. Looks like a healthy range of opinions on them with one pollster even having them unranked.

There is always a preseason bias based on the perceived strength and talent of a team. It’s one of the problems of trying to rank teams in the first month of the season. Ohio St. has beaten Akron, Western Michigan, Marshall and Mich St, yet everyone has them ranked in top 4. The reason is it is Ohio St and pundits know they have one of the most talented rosters in the country. I think Fonseca’s top 25 is pretty good.

problem with that argument is that Ohio state is undefeated. If they lost to Michigan state (prob not that different than losing to Kentucky at home), I think the pollsters have to re-evaluate where they belong.

My point is that when you look at results, it’s impossible to argue that ole miss results are better than RU. Pre season bias is absurd. As someone else pointed out BC is still getting votes for beating a putrid Florida state team.
