He chose Princeton over Alabama. He's not transferring to Rutgers. He didn't transfer to Oklahoma State to be with Gleeson. In fact, he never played for Gleeson. He doesn't start at Princeton yet. There's a 0% chance he's transferring to Rutgers.

Yeah, don’t transfer to Rutgers.
In fact, no good player anywhere should transfer to Rutgers.

(Only our fans would encourage players in this way.)
Seriously? You can be a fan of a team and still be a good person who wishes the best for every kid out there. There is no reason for any student to transfer from Princeton to Rutgers, no matter how much it helps your precious football team.

Next step on the board, pre-portal suggestions linking to old commitment articles, with no hint of an intent to transfer.....with this board asked to speculate.

OK I will play

0% chance based on all available information.

This board is guaranteed to encourage kids to choose an Ivy league school over us every single time the issue is brought up. As if there is a magic dust the sprinkle on you at the school and you're set for life. Not that far off from everyone who sends their kid to private HS and then wonders why the kid is a gym teacher 8 years and $400,000 later.

Let's find a 5* guy of our own and he can enjoy the Ivy experience.
He traveled all the way from Cali, not necessary to go an extra 17 miles to play football.

He went to Princeton to go to Princeton. He didn't go to specifically play for Gleeson who left before the season started. He's not coming here. All of this speculating is stupid.

So every HS recruit who has an Ivy League offer (in any sport) should choose Ivy over Rutgers.

Then someone else could argue any HS recruit who has an offer from a perennial playoff team (OSU, Clemson, Alabama, etc.) should choose that team because...

Then someone else could argue any HS recruit who has an offer from a perennial playoff contending team (PSU, Wisconsin, Michigan, etc.) should choose that team because...

So exactly what type of player do you think should choose Rutgers?

Yes there is. Princeton doesn't offer an MBA program so a kid graduating from there with remaining eligibility would have to transfer regardless.

Matter of fact they don't offer any Master's degrees at all. Their grad school is PHD only.

Seriously? You are advocating a kid give up the chance to go through life with a Princeton degree so he can play some football games at Rutgers for your benefit as a fan. Obviously, you have the kid's best interests at hart, laughable.

A Princeton degree, like a Rutgers one, is simply a way to open doors.

It’s up to the kid to walk through one and determine how far they want to go.

Has anyone transferred from Princeton to Rutgers? Not just in football but otherwise. Not counting someone failing out or about to be kicked out, etc. I love Rutgers, but come on, no one should pass on Princeton education and prestige that goes with it.

I hate all things Princeton but why in the world would this kid transfer to Rutgers? That said, I would love it if he did.

The other thing I find astounding is this guy goes from Lancaster, CA to Princeton, NJ. I spent the better part of six months in Lancaster for work and the two towns couldn't be more absolute polar opposites.

Thing is no one said he wants to come on board, and he is not even in the transfer portal,

Unless you are trying to work at an Investment Bank, going Ivy doesn't mean a ton. Hell, I work at an investment bank and ask everyone where they go to school and I still don't hear a lot of Ivy names. The head of the desk went to a SUNY school. I have met one Harvard grad on Wall St in 10 years and he was making like 60k a year. It helps open some doors, that's it. It's up to the individual to walk through it.

IB has changed due to all the changes in regulation. When I started on Wall Street (1999), every trader was from Ivy or top 25 schools.

Seriously? The self-loathing on this board is sometimes off the charts. I chose RU over Princeton (too snooty), MIT (too geeky), and Cornell (too middle of nowhere), as I loved my visit to RU and my conversations with the eng'g school reps and students, plus liked the idea of a free ride to RU. I get that many/most wouldn't have made that decision based on rankings or other things, but I have absolutely no regrets over that decision.

Let me get this straight you all are arguing about a kid who hasn't thrown a pass yet in the 2 years he's been at Princeton and somehow RU should maybe take him as a transfer because Gleeson recruited him to Princeton.

And to top it off he's not even in the transfer portal and there are no indications he wants to transfer either.

WTF moments on the free board!!! (cue Twilight Zone music)

I know an incredible young man who chose Rutgers over Princeton, who was singled out by name with praise toward the end of Obama’s RU graduation speech in 2006, and is now getting a full ride plus stipend for his PhD in England (not Rhodes, but another school just like it).

This young man said he would choose Rutgers every time over Princeton. Rutgers opened up world wide opportunities for him while he was in New Brunswick.

Princeton has a small campus and in the world outside of New Jersey/New York it doesn't really matter between Rutgers and Princeton. There is more to do at Rutgers and you don't have to get caught up in the dinning halls drama.
