I am pulling for this young man to star at UK. This is the attitude I love from players on the team I root for.
He’s gonna be a stud if he sticks around. IMO year 2 he’ll backup Kam and we may go small ball with both. But year 3 he could be a star. Double digit scoring stud.
I will be honest, I had almost forgotten about this kid with a roster so deep. I hope he comes in, puts the work in and gets some quality minutes before returning for his So. season.
IMO we’re already set at the 3 for 26-27. I think Kam can be a 15 pt 5/6 board 3 and d stud and Hawthorne off the bench should give us 6-7 pts a game.

He’s got potential if he sticks around to be a very good player.
He’ll be solid year 2 backing up Kam who’ll be one of the top players in the SEC. then jr Hawthorne could go off. Or both could go off when Kam is a jr and Hawthorne is a sophomore and both get drafted. I’m high on both.
I sure hope Kam turns out to be this good, lot of people think this before ever watching him play a game.
I'm curious who he reminds you of. I see some similarities with a recent inductee of the Kentucky sports hall of fame!
I don’t think you can count on it either, especially with a guy like Carter Bryant going in the lottery this year. Prototypical 3 and D prospects are coveted. Hawthorne may have a big opportunity as soon as next year.
just the one play reminds me of the first batch of davis highlights i saw, including that insane steal where he jumped up at half court and snatched a pass out of the air at like 14’
he doesn’t have the same broad shoulders, athleticism or overall ability obviously
I’m with you on this. I don’t get ALL the hype. I think he will be a solid piece. But he averaged 9 in 32 mins. On a very very average G5 team. I’m not sure I can see where he increases any of those numbers. He won’t play 32 mins. Lowe and Oweh probably do the lions share of the perimeter scoring. I can see Kam playing 20ish mins and getting 6-8 points, which would be really good. Especially considering the jump in competition and the decrease in minutes.

Just going by next years mock draft with having him at 16 is why I don’t think he’s back.
The young man gives me a Tayshaun Prince vibe.
It is good to see talented players like Hawthorne, Potter and Noah come to UK and live out their dreams when they love the Wildcats.
If he sticks around for multiple years, he will be an absolute stud in year 2-3.
We can only hope. What a steal that would be getting him that late
