B Walker is getting his own College Football call in show at Barstool, similar to Finebaum but without the bald, overpaid troll.

He’s come a long way from being the Dispatch beat writer and co-host of The Slant.

He’s grown a lot at Barstool, for sure. He’s learned to take a joke better. He’s always been great at dishing it out, but equally bad at taking it. It made him come across as a giant baby. But he’s become self-deprecating, take a joke about MSU, etc. and he’s way better for it. Walker seemed to me at first as if Barstool was just kinda using him as a joke, and he didn’t realize it. But either I was wrong or he’s proved them wrong, one, because he’s continually getting new opportunities and mediums. It’s a really cool story.

Now I’m just hoping Ben Mintz proves me wrong, because I still kinda think that they’re all just kinda making fun of him, and aren’t really sure what to do with him. He was brought in to aggravate Brandon Walker, more than anything, but his personality isn’t really ideal for that, as he’s too nice a guy. And Walker isn’t threatened by him in anyway, so any animosity seems manufactured.

I think he definitely knew he was brought in as a joke. Dave hired him without even knowing who he was because of a feud Dave was having with his former employer. Brandon got shelled one night on this show by Barstool listeners over the feud. Dave saw it, called him up and offered him a job. He wouldn't even give him time to decide, it was take it now or don't come. It was an offer Brandon couldn't refuse, EIGHTY THOUSAND DOLLARS a year! (see Office - satire - I hate that I felt I needed to qualify that remark)

I think Brandon knew that one year contract he signed was probably his one and only contract. He was one and done and would be forever the running joke how they hired this idiot form Mississippi away from.... Dave did want a College football guy and had talked about hiring a southern dude to be a College guy. Brandon showed up and started working his *** off on daily shows and became the college guy too. He was doing more content than anyone. He got followers, had some success and now he pretty much has been given the freedom to do whatever he wants, I am sure as long as it works. Why? He is making them money.

Barstool plays up feuds for sure, they use that like reality TV and it works. Mintz may have been hired to play against Brandon for content. Sure, they are making fun of both of them but they have been given an opportunity. It's on them to make it work.

I think Mintz and Brandon are good together. They might have brought him on to bug Brandon but at the end of the day they seem to work well together

I agree with that, for sure. They’re different personalities, which plays well together. Mintz is kinda cringey by himself, but as part of a bigger show, he’s an asset.

“The Office” joke is perfectly placed. Well played.

I thought he had the most entertaining MSU podcast with More Cowbell. He carries the show, Unnecessary roughness. Although, Kasey is really good too.

Congratulations to Brandon for continuing to elevate his career!!!! I will be listening to his new show, for sure.

Brandon is the best hire Barstool has made in years. He knows it, Dave knows it, other employees know it, the fans know it.

OK I recognize Bumphis, Hadad and BFW….. who are the rest?

Jay Hughes. Matthew Wells and I cannot remember the third players name. I do remember they were departing seniors. They referred to Bumphis as “ Dan’s favorite” and generally had a good time talking about life in Mullen’s program.

Brandon has a beef with the Jackson Sports Show Hosts mafia (i'm assuming this is mostly Bo Bounds?), I remember him saying after he had gotten fired from a job, he tried to get a foothold on Jackson Sports Radio and he was not given consideration.

He does a college football podcast with Kayce Smith called "Unnecessary Roughness" but it may as well be called "Unnecessary Arguing". I'm about to quit listening to it because everything turns into a 20 minute argument.

I like Unnecessary Roughness, personally. Wish I knew how to hear his new show, though.

Download the barstool app and you will have ALL the Brandon Walker shows in one place. I don't think his new show is out yet, but you will have no problem finding it on one of the many platforms (none of them being terrestrial radio, Sirius Radio or TV). They usually off most of their big shows on youtube where you can stream live as well. I assume BFW will have a big enough audience to stream it live on youtube.

Yep. Thinking again you’re correct. I was just thinking of the live shows.

I will say, for as big as they are, they don’t make it easy to find a lot of specific content. That puzzles me.
