Brad Stevens to IU?

Called a friend who is an Indiana fan this morning to bust his chops. He said Stevens is on thin ice in Boston and if both he and Archie are fired, it will happen

Don't see Stevens leaving the NBA. He'll easily get an NBA job if fired by Boston

Less than zero chance Stevens gets fired in Boston....and Stevens would have his choice of a half-dozen NBA jobs that are just better than Indiana.....

Indiana just needs to recruit better players and get out of the 1 and 2 done market.....Romeo Langford, 1 average year at Indiana, off to the bench of the Boston Celtics.....now Trayce Jackson Davis, is a very good sophomore who probably isn't going to get any better in college, off he goes to the 2nd round or GLeague.

It's very difficult to win in this league without getting your better players to their junior or senior seasons....imagine Kofi Cockburn (sophomore) and Ayo Dousumu (junior) not on Illinois this year???

Imagine Luka Garza on the bench of the Memphis Grizzlies....what if junior Joe Weiskamp after this season, decides to up and leave for the NBA.....??

Purdue is beating Indiana to death (8 straight wins over IU) because Painter is recruiting to a system, based on development, redshirting and work....if Jackson Davis stays next year, Archie is fine....

The time to get Stevens was after he took Butler to the Final Four. He's one of the best coaches in the NBA now. If Boston fires him, there are NBA teams that will line up to hire him.

Exactly why I hope the eligibility rules don't change. The one and dones have hurt the blue bloods (look at Duke and UNC this among many others) and have helped schools like us who don't get those players

Yeah, you either have to go “all in” and recruit multiple 1-and-dones each year (like Kentucky), or stay away from them altogether (unless it’s every once in a while).

Like Nucky Thompson said, you can’t be half a gangster.

I have heard Stevens would only come back to college if it was to coach Duke.

The way forward in the current one and done environment is getting players who stay in your program for 3-4 years and develop into good to great players. For all of the high powered recruiting that Calipari has done at Kentucky, he's won 1 championship in his time there. That's as many as Virginia has won under Bennett.

Archie can recruit but so far; he hasn't really developed the program. Trayce has to be headed to the NBA this year. Where are they without him?

I have always thought succeeding at a mid major doesnt necessarily translate to success in a major conference. The guy going to Dayton doesn't have the same ego as the guy going to IU.

Everytime RU has faced Archie Miller his team has a look of a soft team that melts whenever things get tough.

At some point you have to think if you are Indiana and you are perceived as a top coaching spot it might be time to move on.

Brad is making a ton of money coaching in the NBA. If he left for the Indiana job, he wouldn’t be the first pro coach to return to the college ranks. Nick Saban is the first name that comes to mind.

I thought Archie was going to be a grand slam hire at IU. He has recruited some studs to that program but his coaching has really stunk. Pike would be in the final four if he had a couple of the players that Archie has recruited.
