Montini-Byron probably in the second round in 3A. Winner likely gets Princeton in the quarters.. Winner of that probably gets Wilmington in the semis. What a road

Love me some Wilmo but not sure they make much noise in 3A, but hope I'm wrong

Yeah that is a really tough draw for #1 seed and defending champ.
On the road round 2 vs the team that almost beat you last year and got a good amount better.

I think they have a good chance to make the semifinals. After that, who knows.
Of course, if they play bad, they will get beat sooner. No gimmes for them in 3A.

Hosting question:
If both road teams win their first round game, does the higher seed host round 2?

In 7A the top half is a joke, have to think LWC to the semis there. BR has a brutal road with DGN and Batavia likely in round 2 and quarters, MC vs SCN in round 2 will be a good game. Rita should have a clear patch to the Semi and likely play the winner of MC/SCN

I never mentioned it in my posts, but all 3 weeks I did the brackets, I thought 7A was weird and bunched up and had a lot of non-traditional names.

Road team picks the day.
Home team picks the time.
Is that true? I remember a biz bag years ago where a team that was coming to Wilmo didn't wanna play at night. I remember a rule that if the teams couldnt agree, it was set at like 1:30 on Saturday

This is directly from the ihsa website...

The game must be played on Saturday, unless both schools agree to play the game on Friday. Friday games must not be scheduled during school hours. Saturday games must start between 1 pm and 7 pm. The schools must agree on the starting time of the game. If they cannot come to an agreement, the IHSA Office will set the starting time.

I think they let the AD's figure it out among themselves. I know MC had played on a Friday round 1 four of the last 5 years, but all those teams they played were local. If distance has to be traveled I think they will obviously play on Saturday. MC has to go to Rockford area in Round 1 so I'm expecting a Saturday game

He literally copied that from the ihsa website. It's as he posted. Obviously if the AD's come to agreement, then everything is all good.

Its the literal ihsa rule verbatim. Belleville east has played a friday night game in south elgin and maine south the past 2 years, much further than chicago to rockford.

I remember a few years back that StL played at Quincy, and we played Friday night

I'm not disagreeing that it's not the rule's verbatim it just seems like a lot of the games are played on Friday....I figured travel time and school hours were taken into consideration between the AD's.

LWC looks like a cakewalk to 7A semis. Haven't really played a tough regular season schedule and have very favorable matchups in playoffs
