Anyone else catch the stat on SportsCenter that 8 out of the last 10 years the champion has been from the top 3 teams BPI predicted to win it all after the brackets were announced? Last year Gonzaga and UNC were both in the top 3. This year it’s UVA, Nova, and Duke (in that order).

That doesn’t match what’s in the link. Maybe the numbers changed or I heard it wrong.

I remember Reece saying BPI accurately predicted UNC vs. Gonzaga in the title before the tournament started.

If you go look at predictions for Final 4 and who will be in Championship game, Duke actually leapfrogs into 3rd. The whole ranking is primarily based on who has highest percentage to win the 1st game. Rest of the rounds have teams moving up and down the rankings outside of Nova and UVA always staying in top 2.

One interesting thing I noticed in that link is that for the round of 32 UNC has a slightly higher percentage than us but every round after that we’ve got the higher percentage
