Vandy has played in the MCB twice, 2008 against Boston College and 2012 against NC State. Both times attendance was about 55,000, which is a good crowd for that game, and about the same as the crowd for our game when we played Wake Forest in 2013.

This may be one of the most fascinating bowl game scenarios in recent memory. I think if you were to ask a young alumni(23-40) what bowl they wanted then the overwhelming answer would be MCB. I think the middle aged alumni(41-60) want a warm bowl in Florida or Texas Bowl and the older alumni(60+) want the Outback bowl so they can end their nearly two decade long boycott of Outback Steakhouse. At least we can all agree no one wants the Liberty or the Belk.

lol, I fit the young alumni crowd (late 30s) and for personal reasons I prefer MCB, although I'll always feel like the Outback is more prestigious. I really have no desire to go to Belk or Texas unless it's a good matchup. But I'll go wherever they send us... haven't missed a bowl game since I graduated.

I can't fathom the appeal of the MCB

over a bowl that we haven't been to before which is also a higher payout (Outback/Texas)

We couldn’t even show up for a damn NY6 game.
This quote is complete and utter ********. I was there, there were lots of State fans definitely more than Tech fans. Now we may not have bought tickets through the school but the allotment for the Orange bowl was very expensive and very bad seating. I paid $5/ticket through Stub hub for field level end zone seats for my party of 6. And we were far from the only ones to do so.

My buddy at the Liberty Bowl is telling me we will not be going to Outback and that MCB is looking more and more likely.

Speak for yourself. I’d be good with the Belk, cause I’d actually get to go...but I would hope for a better bowl of possible.
Why did everyone hate Charlotte? Other than it pissed rain non-stop.

Think I speak for most that Outback is #1 and MCB is #2 in preference.
We’ve already made up our mind (family) that we’re going. Would rather spend a day or two extra at a warm place. (Btw I’m in that older crowd).

Liberty and music city always appeal to me, because I don't have to blow out my vacation or wallet to go. Some of you view it as an extra vacation, but for a lot of fans these bowls make seeing state play possible.

The Predators play the night before the MCB as well. My son and I have had tickets to that and a hotel room downtown that night since the hockey tickets went on sale. If it's the MCB we will probabaly tack that on to the trip. If it is the MCB and y'all can get tickets to the Preds game you ought to go. It's a LOT of fun.

I agree, as a biased individual who lives less than an hour from BofA.

I know it's a haul for majority of our fan base, but Charlotte is a good bowl destination from a city standpoint. Nice stadium, too.

But, again, I'm biased.

I don’t know if I believe that. If LSU gets a NY6 Bowl, our AD better fight like hell for the Outback. We’ve been screwed to many times by these bowls. We beat A&M head to head, and we are ranked higher. You might say they are 5-3 in the SEC and we are 4-4 well we are 4-2 against the West they are 3-3. The other part is unbalanced scheduling. Also, we went to the Gator last year which would make it easy for them to take TAMU and the Outback us. Of course, this all depends on the CFP rankings. Our athletics department better fight like hell for this team. They deserve better.
