Is it just me or has it become CFP, NY6, and then all other bowls for anyone else? The difference between the gator, outback, and liberty used to be a pretty huge deal, but I feel like the SEC has succeeded in their efforts towards making it less significant over the years. Personally, I no longer care all that much if it's not a NY6 spot

It was a long trek, but we had a really good time on our outback bowl trip. I would think the citrus bowl would be a great destination as well. Las Vegas will be cool once it rolls into the rotation. After that, yeah they could all be grouped together as meh.

I agree, after the playoffs and the NY6, it doesn't matter to me. We've now done a couple different Florida bowls and have had a couple Liberty's and a MCB in recent years, so if we don't make a NY6 I wouldn't mind a Texas trip. But all in all, I care more about who we get to play as an opponent rather than bowl location.

Players sit out the NY6 bowls, so they don't matter either. They can be a nice prize for some schools, especially ones who don't get there often, like us.

But the playoff is all that matters.

they really just need to expand the playoff. and do some small playoff for G5. It's about time for G5 and P5 to split in to two different NCAA divisions. G5 have no shot at a title ever much like many P5 school will almost never have a shot with the current set up. Bigger playoff system would help. limit scholarships.

It's not just you, but it's also not me.

I still care about where we're going. I also care a lot about the opponent, but the destination is the big thing for me, as I always take the family for at least a couple of days.
If that's not Orlando or a NY6 bowl (unlikely, I know), I'm hoping for Houston or Nashville this year. I could be persuaded to enjoy Tampa again if the opponent was right.

They already engraving Jalen Hurts’ name on the Heisman.

I care more about name brand opponent in the bowl, win or lose so Penn St, Miami, Va Tech, the northern MSU in that order of these projections.
Don’t want to play a Marshall, Miami OH, Baylor in what would amount to a crap bowl game anyway. Playing Iowa St in the Gator or Outback wouldn’t excite me any either.

Unless the we get in the running for the Orange or Citrus, it will be a long time before we go back to a Florida bowl. Seeing as Outback/Gator are on same level as Belk/Texas/Music City/Liberty, I think we are destined for Texas or, more likely, one of the Tennessee bowls. Our last few showings in Florida from an attendance perspective has not left good taste with those bowls.

Ybor City is pretty cool and fun. Also the beaches and Bush gardens. We made a trip out of it.
