So who is the team we have the toughest chance to compete with? The team we will possibly get hammered by. I know several will say anybody we draw but I want the worst possible matchup personally.

The only way we see what kind of staff we have for next year is to be in a game we aren’t expected to compete in. I want a coaching staff under pressure to deliver. They haven’t most of the year but after the end of the year meeting with Cohen I want our coaching staff be put in a position to show me something about what we will be next year.
Look I hung a bit long with this staff but when the rubber meets the road I need and expect this staff to produce against a better team. If we can’t then Cohen knows, and some of us that aren’t as pessimistic know. I hope we draw a bad draw so I can be proved wrong or at least hold out hope for next year.

Damn a good draw and a win, I want this staff coaching for their lives before New Years!
Let the chips fall where they may. Time to have players and coaches held to a standard we demand from Miss. State athletes. No more lackluster efforts by staff or players. Cohen better have high demands and I don’t want us favored goin in

Oklahoma State would suck. I think I’d rather see a ACC team than Big 12.

Why because I hope Cohen is making the right decision? At this point I don’t think so while earlier in the year I believed Moorhead might be ok in the long run? So who do you want us to play? Easier draw or don’t give a ****? I understand the hate of this situation but it’s not terrible for another fan to want to see if things have a chance at an improving staff and team.

That’s hilarious!
My point is let’s play someone who will ***** slap us in the bowl. Time to see if the meeting meant anything after the egg bowl. He should demand and expect effort from players and his staff, something that has been lacking all year.

Look I was overly optimistic for the first of the year, and have steadily went to yalls side but I do want to see NOW what he can do under pressure. I’m willing to admit I’m wrong but I do want to see changes in attitude in scheme and attitude heading to the spring.

Just a fan like y’all just a bit more optimistic at times I guess. Hell I’ve always been that way.

I would definitely rather see an ACC team. The Big 12 is pretty good these days.

But we need to see the best team possible in my opinion. I hoped Moorhead was the guy heading into this year even after the disappointment of last year then he’ll showed up this year. He’s had his meeting I hope he gets a nightmare draw and I expect some things he hasn’t shown us yet. He made his statement after Mississippi game it’s time for him to bring a game plan and emotion from this team against someone better.

He made his statement now back it up. Damn a bowl win against a weaker opponent. Show me something. I hope he can

I know someone who is immediate family of a decision maker. Before they got on a flight for a meeting for exactly this, they conveyed the following:

The odds for where we go are 60/30/10 Nashville/Charlotte/Memphis.

Take that for what you will. I'd love to go back to Nashville. He a great time last time, just hoping for a more prestigious opponent than Wake.

I get downvotes because I expect us to play someone better than us. Cool. But damn a bowl win if we ain’t bettering ourselves. Step up and play or damn a easy bowl win. We need to know what we got from staff and players

I hope to get Nashville just because it is kick *** time. That being said, I just want us to win the bowl. That game sets the tone for the entire off season for both fans and players. I want to see a prepared, and motivated team that wants to get the win as much as anybody else. To borrow a line from Jay Rock win, win, win, 17 everything else.

Guess it’s different from beating Mississippi? I want a win but I don’t want a gimme. I want a step up game to see what this coaching staff is about.

I want a bowl win. Hope it’s in Nashville. I just want one against someone we are distinct underdogs.

I’m betting we get the Music City Bowl against the Louisville Linebeards. I’d rather play someone else because we just beat them in the Gator two years a go. I’m saying we’d probably be favored by 2-3 in this matchup, so we’d see if Joe would crap the bed as a road/neutral favorite again. I’d rather play UNC, FSU, or Miami.

I'd like to play Florida State in the MCB. Be somebody new we haven't played in over 40 years

I agree. And there will be some extra eyes on that game because of the FSU brand and their new coach even if he's not on the sideline.

Look, OP is just saying he hopes we go into our bowl game as the underdog so we can see if Joe got a fire lit under his *** and can react as a good coach would....with his best effort and to the best of his ability, including the ability to change if necessary.

I like the idea. Given how Joe acted like beating OM was some kind of proof he is on-track, I, too would like to see him beat a quality team with at least as good or better players and coaching.

Show us something, Joe!

I want the easiest bowl game. I want a bowl win. Finishing with 4 wins out of 5 will help recruiting and help potential signees think that Moorhead is here to stay, when we know a bowl win won't make much of a difference in whether Moorhead stays after November 2020.

Also, a bowl win helps our overall bowl record. Not a huge thing, but media puts out bowl win percentages, just like they publish that State has been to 10 straight bowls, a streak among the best teams in the country. Many didn't want a bowl at 5-7 but that helps us now. All of those are positive things that recruits see.

If there was a chance that a blowout loss in a bowl would get Moorhead fired, then that would be ok, even though the timing would suck. But I don't want a good opponent just to test Moorhead and staff right now. We'll have plenty of good opponents next season.

Agree with all of this except that if we fire a coach because of a bowl loss, that would instantaneously vault us to the #1 spot on the biggest dumpster fires in the country list.

I said it before,I WANT A BOWL WIN! But I want to challenge this staff and players. If we beat someone we should what have we accomplished? The funny thing is so many that hate Moorhead say he hasn’t won as a underdog. And I agree. If he truly is going to a bowl and treat it like a business trip after the lackluster effort this staff and team put out at times then I want him to go to work and sell me on his future. He says it is his program, that he’s almost there. Then show me. He’ll step up and play and coach your *** off.

So, this is the same year with the same players and the same staff. They are gonna have what, 10-12 practices before the bowl game? Cohen did point out like 40? things he wanted to see changed between now and the end of next season, or so the rumor states. Supposedly, Joe and John are in complete agreement that these changes and/or improvements are going to be implemented so they are reflected in the results of the 2020 season-or Joe is toast. I don’t think John was telling him that these things had to be done between now and the bowl game. I certainly don’t know how anyone can seriously expect all these improvements over the course of the next few weeks. Anyone who is expecting to see this new “scheme” and new “attitude” between now and the bowl game is not being realistic.

Seriously we aren’t gonna play a team deserving of the New Years 6 either way. My point is I hope we draw a challenge and see if he can bring the same energy from staff and players like we did against Mississippi. That’s it a challenge against a pretty good team. Not a team nobody remembers.
