I will be playing and keeping stats. I am on the road again in Augusta, GA. For perhaps the final time.

Some of you may have noticed that I've posted from here frequently this fb season. The reason is that my wife and I have a very dear friend in the final stages of her fight with ovarian cancer. She is an 11 year warrior, twice as long as the average, but we are now at the end.

We wanted to make these last weeks as meaningful as possible, so we have spent a lot of weekends here in the last 2 months.

It is heartbreaking to be here and watch someone you love dearly fade away. But her struggles will be over soon and she can finally rest.

I didn't mean to bring you guys down but it has been difficult keeping this bottled up for months.

I'm back next week with picks, tallying and a better outlook, I hope.

That cancer is the worst. I have seen my share of those who go through the final stages.

It is kind, brave and also heartbreaking for you I imagine, to be there with your friend. My friends mother passed from ovarian cancer a few years back, and it was devastating for the family at the time. I watched my Mom fade away after numerous strokes , lots of travel during that period. It was both the worst and the best time of my life, getting to spend time with her and chat was important, but I knew what was happening, and the weight of it was so heavy over 6 months...Wishing you , your wife and your friend peace during such a difficult time ex-pat...

I give Navy a lot of cred, this is one of the better seasons out of the service academies in some time to my recollection? In fact credit to all of em really, AF with the win over WSU and Army pushing the big programs this year? It's nice to see that resurgence.

if the service academies didn’t have weight restrictions for Jrs and Srs in the summertime and there was redshirt possibilities (which yes I know defeats the whole purpose of the Academy schools), they’d be that much better. I root for all of them. I take Army as my top choice in head to head though.

I did not know of the weight restrictions...ya that's a major hurdle the others don't have....

Since the World Champs have decided to rest this off season after getting screwed over by refs 7 times this season, the tie breaker will be total points scored in the Peach Bowl with Oklahoma vs LSU

December 21 - Las Vegas Bowl (also known as the Chris Peterson Game) 7:30 abc
Washington—sent Peterson out right, although probably like the Terminator, he’ll be back (but with better results than AhhhhNold).

December 23 - Gasparilla Bowl(I did google and find out Gasparilla is actually a pirate which means East Carolina should be in this bowl) 2:30 espn

Bama——the khakis continues to take Michigan fans for their $$$$$$$$ worth. Approximately $1 million for each victory. Hint the khakis wants $12 million annually to win 12 games. Seriously if he doesn’t beat the worthless nuts next year, he should resign or be fired upon leaving the field at the Shoe. Only at the Dallas Cowboys can averaging 9 wins a year be cause for celebration and a new contract.

With last night's Tennessee win the Bowl Challenge has been won by @The Bell Tolls for Thee with 15 correct picks and mathematically eliminates everyone else from having a shot at the top spot before the NC Game. Of course @3xWVUenginEER and @locustwv are eliminated for that game as well with picks for tOSU and OU respectively. Of the remaining players everyone else picked LSU except The Bell and @MichiganHerd who both picked Clemson - nice pick guys!

Congratulations to Bell tolls

what really sucks is we have like one or two more games and then we got like 8 months of waiting. I can’t watch basketball for much. I just can’t. It’s too much of nothing for me. And I like Bob Huggins a lot. He’s a every man for my taste of his personality.

With that said: We are approaching the wasteland of sports called the waiting period.
