People who are saying who cares if we get to six wins and go to a crappy bowl game don't know what they are talking about.

If we win we will be the 9th bowl eligible SEC team. Missouri is not eligible. Four SEC teams are likely to be in the CFP/NY6. The 5th SEC team will go to the Citrus Bowl. That leaves four SEC teams to be slotted in the Outback, Gator, Music City, Texas, Belk, and Liberty bowl. The Birmingham and Independence bowls are not getting an SEC team this year. Besides any bowl trip being a reward to our players, the options available to us are not crappy bowls.

The main incentive to go to a bowl game is for all the extra practice time your team gets. That is very important these days and it's like a second spring camp. Very important. Plus of course all the swag and stuff the kids get. Public exposure, help with recruiting, etc. People rooting for us to lose and not go to a bowl game are just holding the program back. Most are too ignorant to realize it tho

Valid point. We’ll likely backdoor into a decent bowl if we can win tomorrow.

Last year, the lowest rated SEC bowl team was Vandy at 6-6, and they went to the Texas Bowl. In 2017, both the Music City and Belk featured 6-6 SEC teams. Hard to predict where we would end up if we make it.
