I would imagine the passes are available at the Hingham Terminal? If taking the MTA, buy a weekend pass; unlimited travel
Thanks so much! After a little research the Ferry looks like the most fun/less stressful way to go. And a short walk from Long Wharf to Boston Common. We are going to do the Freedom Trail and have lunch at Union Oyster House.Hingham on the south shore is pretty close and has a water taxi that is part of the MBTA that is fast and like a $10 ride to the waterfront close to the NE Aquarium and aI short walk to the North End. Also a little farther out you could stay in Cohasset or Scituate and take the Greenbush commuter train for about $10. This will drop you at South Station where you can easily walk to a lot of things or pick up the T to other parts of town. For the most part this part of MA is very nice New England coastal communities. Pretty safe. A lot of old money. I'm sure the North shore offers similar, but I'm much more familiar with Boston points south.
Moved to Hingham from the city when I was in the 8th grade (1978)... took the T into Dorchester to attend BC High (way back before the Commuter Line). I still have family there.Hingham on the south shore is pretty close and has a water taxi that is part of the MBTA that is fast and like a $10 ride to the waterfront close to the NE Aquarium and a short walk to the North End.
