Boston College Preview and Game Thread

There is not much if any drop off when the bench is in the game.

We have great depth.

A second unit of Aarnisalo, Brooks, Hull, Henderson and Blanca Thomas/Taissa Q is a darn good team.

I imagine the first six and the second six have some real battles in practice/pickup.

I love the way our Heels played!

That being said, I think BC is really, really bad.

Probably the best all around game the Heels have played this season. Team offense, suffocating defense and one of the most balanced scoring attacks you'll likely see at the college level. Like to see a little better shooting from the FT line and 3 point land but other than that a stellar performance by our ladies.

Agree with everyone this was probably the best we’ve played all year.

I’ll add too. 3-point shooting by non-reserves: 8-19 (42%). 6 different players hit one. We can really spread the floor this year. Reserves late in the game the last 5-6 minutes: 0-6 from deep.

FTs: 6-9 overall; Nyla Brooks went 3-3 after coming into the game at just 29%. She looked more comfortable last night than any game this year.

I was so glad to see Nyla B making free throws. She is a great shooter so it only makes sense
for her to make free throws. Nyla B, Taliyah and Laila all look like they can be really good from the foul line.

Just based on the eye test I would say Lanie, Reniya and Elina would be our 3 best FT shooters.

Last night vs BC was our all time biggest win for UNC WBB plus 51 points.

We finally went to one of our strengths as I stated the last two games. Get the ball inside to NH and let her cook. They finally did this throughout the game. Inside out works best. The outside shots will be more easy to make when you do this. This is what the stats showed the last game and our perimeter players stopped going inside. CB and staff clearly made an emphasis on this during practice and our ladies followed and stuck with the game plan. The game was much easier from an offensive stand point. This showed that BC had no answer for NH. This is what we should have been doing a few games back. I am glad that they finally figured this out. Against Stanford, this is going to require a different game plan. They have a shot blocker inside who is a freshman. She has made ACC freshman of the week at least twice. The game plan should be to get her into foul trouble. NH and CT will need to pump fake first, get her off her feet and get her into foul trouble. They have to use their experience as veterans players against this freshman. Stanford is not the same team as last year. They have a good freshman class just like us. This game is going to be a good one. Go Heels!

BC is bad but that was a good performance by the Heels. Great to see RK rounding into form.

I totally agree. They went out there and took care of business. They did what good teams are suppose to do. Put a team away early and continue to build chemistry and building up confidence and depth from the bench. Go Heels!
