Jordan shot 54 percent his freshman year - including the bucket that won the national championship. Don’t go there.BJ was able to coast thru the game in HS, but not in D1. There’s a lot of work ahead for him if he ever wants to be more than marginally better than he is now.
The true goat while more athletic than BJ, was not a good shooter his frosh year at UNC. He made himself into the player he became, by working his tail off every year from that point including after getting to the league.
BJ doesn’t have that kind of ceiling but has to have that mindset if he wants to make an impact going forward. Don’t think it’s in him but hope he comes back and proves me wrong.
You are nuts!!I want Boston back. He could be great in his second year.
We all have crazy moments. You have had yours. Rather have a horse’s ***... please ! Bring the film crew please!Hopefully Boston comes back.
The fact that this is even in consideration just shows how different times are from the 90s
I agree with your post. There have been a few that either I'm glad they didn't come back or wished they hadn't for similar reasons...Hagans and Goodwin to name a couple of recent ones. But I think Boston takes number one for me. One of my pet peeves is SELFISH players. That me, me, me attitude. I've got to get mine so the scouts will notice me. I have to look good as well. I am all about TEAM playing. Him with his camera crew was just a bit too much for me as well as his selfish play on the court. He is also very soft, appearing to be scared of contact. One last thing, I think just the way Cal favored him could have caused some bad team chemistry (probably!).Boston will certainly get better over time. I don't think he has near the ceiling that so-called experts do, however.
Nevertheless, I wouldn't take him back next year even if he was much improved. I think he, and how he was handled, were the main reasons that the chemistry on this team was so bad. He's my least favorite Cal OAD moving Skal out of that spot.
Boston,Clark and Jackson are out of here.
