I really don't know. I can only go on what I'm hearing. I've always said Pope is nerdy and a dork. He just doesn't click with these guys. I have seen that first hand. I know for a fact the money is there as well as playing time. Mo Williams and coach McLean are doing what they can but it's on Pope to close. It may still happen

Recruiting is weird and I try not to get happy/mad until a guy actually announces, but damn if this doesn't feel like last portal season all over again.
I also find it crazy that we are in the midst of a crazy recruiting period, while down an asst coach. It's like UK just can't get out of its own way sometimes.
Might as well save the money and just go with the six players we have at this point. Pope is done here.
Miss on Wright, Stokes goes to KU. What's the fallback plan? The colgate guard? Jesus christ. Next season is shaping up to be a 9-16 level disaster.

People say BCG because he offered some middle schoolers, dude got Orton, Patterson, Darius Miller, Deandre Liggins. 3 of those guys were 5 stars and one was a high 4. And he was locking dudes in bathroom stalls. Yet, he still got players.

I haven't given up all hope yet but we heard multiple times last year that Pope doesn't need to be the person closing the deal with these recruits. It was an area that needed to be addressed and it was ignored. In fact, Pope seemed to pushback against the idea of hiring a manager for the basketball team. I don't think next season is going to be an epic disaster because Pope actually seems to work better with higher end mid major talent than with straight P5 material. But we aren't going to win anything of merit either.
This approach will not consistently work at Kentucky. Not in this age of recruiting.

There was a part of me that hoped Pope would be one of those adaptable coaches who could take on the ebbs and flows of this era. Instead, he seems stubborn as mule and content on only doing it his way.
This recruiting reminds me of watching the 84 UK vs Georgetown game. 1st half we looked and felt good. 2nd half we went 3-33, couldn’t make a shot.

Just want to make sure I'm understanding everything correctly: everyone is freaking out because someone here said some BYU randos said there would be an announcement at 2:00 (didn't specify which time zone) and some nobody on twitter photoshopped a crystal ball prediction on Wright's 247Sports profile?
