I hope you are right. However, it hasn’t stopped players from leaving for the NBA before they’re ready in previous classes, assuming they think they will get drafted in the first round. Most young guys anymore have no allegiance to UK. They just want the moolah. I’d love for Boston to come back next season and blossom.
Stingy SOB's only thinking about themselves.......how dare they only think about getting rich...........young people.....

Yeah they are pros. Do not attempt to pretend like these 5 star players are just regular college athletes. Many of these guys wouldn't even be in college if they could go directly to the NBA. Should the fans boo? I wouldn't have, but if you are going to take your time and money to go watch these games, you should be able to do anything that isn't considered unauthorized or illegal.

Yes you are absolutely right.......ignorant behavior isn't illegal........Because you can't legislate stupidity...

I can see what has become the new mantra of virtue signalers. The moral high ground you all have for not booing at a basketball game is astounding. Booing may not be the best look. But when you are taking piss poor, selfish shots, and not playing team ball, what do you really expect?

I still believe Boston will come around and be our best , or second best player. If a kid makes taking ill advised shots a regular thing, that is on the coach. I am not going to boo a kid . I think it is trashy as hell to boo one of our own. We did not become known as the greatest fanbase in the country by booing our players. When covid is over and we get back to regular attendance next year, I hope anyone found booing our players will be shown on the big screen. Maybe with lettering under the video saying , this guy boos our players during a home game. Point out where he is sitting. Humiliate the dumbass for all to see. That is what he is doing to the kid.

always a good idea to humiliate people who paid a premium ticket price for your event when you can't sell out games.

I did say next season after Covid and yes I see no problem with pointing out poor behavior in our own fans. They dont deserve the ticket and someone else will get it. Not being a fan makes it hard for you to understand.

I'm sure you don't see any problem with it due to your limited vision of the situation.

but the big hole in your self appointed arbiter of all things right for UK fandom is when its not one guy but 2000 guys booing.

based on the thread, we had like only 3k fans there and the boo'ing wasn't limited to a drunk guy up in the cheap seats. Extend that out to 20K

Well, I suppose you are cheering for the boos. Good for you. I dont think we have 2000 classless guys like you that find it tasteful to boo our own players. But, you go with that thinking if you want. I will stick to what I said in my original post. You, of all posters will have no influence on what I think.

People pay their hard earned money to go watch KY Basketball. They have every right to yell and scream or boo if the team is playing poorly. I personally wouldn’t boo players but to each their own. Boston has had a great attitude on the bench the last 2 games cheering on his teammates during crunch time.

I never heard any booing but if it did happen how do we know it was aimed at him? Calipari could have just thrown that out there to distract the fan base. If someone was booing they sure didn’t mention in on the telecast. Too much made out of it anyways.

Over the last couple of months you have made it pretty clear where you stand. No assumptions about you. I was there , every game, during the Tubby years. Booing our team players is never acceptable by a UK fan. You and I just disagree.

I never said it was acceptable. You aren't very good at this.

No he isn't going to do anything but sat on his butt at a keyboard and attempt to live some tough guy fantasy. As long as no rules are being broken, people have the right to behave in ways that we may not agree with, but it is their right.

When you take selfish, Ill-advised shots, you deserve to get boo’d. It’s one thing if you are just struggling, no one should boo a struggling UK player who is competing and giving it their all. However, when you completely high-jack the team’s offense, that’s a completely different story.

Don't think these kids deserve to be booed. Its just shows no class

if Boston can’t be boo’d, can the coach be boo’d for playing Boston? If so, isn’t an appropriate time to boo the coach every time Boston chucks up a selfish shot?

I don’t support booing our guys because I want them to come back. That being said, they are not professional athletes but they are being compensated with a scholarship for a college education, the best rooms on campus, private cafeteria, best facilities to hone their craft, and a HOF coach. It’s like we’re giving them peanuts and they’re playing with chain hoops in the hood.

also like others have said, if you’re playing at a blue blood division l program with professional aspirations you need to be able to handle and appreciate negative feedback. Kids these days are pampered. Keep in mind young men his age stormed the beaches of Normandy so let’s not act these are little kids. They are young men and college is supposed to prepare for your future career and the world.

that all being said, I still don’t support booing because he and the other guys may see it as further motivation to jump or transfer. At the end of the day the teams performance is the fault of its leader making 9-10 mil a year, not the players getting the previously stated benefits

While I don't condone the booing, I would not place blame on those boo birds if dudes decided to transfer, because those boos are nothing compared to what Cal yells at some of these kids.

LOL, you seriously think any of the freshmen on this team will be here past their sophomore years? If so, name one.
And it's also hilarious that you think Cal changed his recruiting. He didn't change a thing, he just didn't get the top end recruits that he offered. He also did an awful job on player evaluation. How he looked at BJB and thought he could carry the load, is beyond me.
He needs to change the culture first and foremost.
Lol. If you don't see potential in BJ Boston that's more on you than cal.

Nobody is gonna stay in college basketball for more than 2 years if they are worth a da#n coming out of highschool. If they aren't ,you wouldn't want them either because of growing pains at the start of a season. This year. The only change that needs to be made is your unrealistic view of today's game.

I can name 30 guys better that EJ and Hagans that are still in college, most are seniors. Luka Garza and Kofi Cockburn are at the top of the list, followed by guys like Gillispie, Kispert, several dudes at Baylor, UT, Michigan even Alabama. You don't know what you're talking about. Go be an idiot on someone else's time.
