First individual no-hitter. A few Nebraska pitchers combined to no-hit Arkansas in a midweek game in 2013.
Bolt kind of made it sound like Brockett flipped a switch the last week or two doing live scrimmages and such in practice. So I guess before that he must have been even worse than what they'd been trotting out there

Probably get a coaching extension based on a no hitter. You know it is what Nebraska does. Extend coaches for basically no reason.
he’s been throwing plenty in practice. It would have been stupid to not let him come out for the ninth.
Bolt had to say that about Sears already this year Laughing Brockett started a few times last year and was so-so, tbf. His WHIP this year in 5.1 IP was 2.25, opponent BA was around .435, ERA over 6.00, so yeah, this performance was a complete surprise.
Small sample size. 5.1 innings in 42 games? He's had several good appearances and a couple of pretty bad appearances. Coaches have to make decisions on who to play and I'll give Bolt the benefit of the doubt that he had good reasons, but right now it's looking pretty dumb Brockett didn't get an opportunity to start a mid-week game before last night. The mindset of starting vs one appearance out of the pen every two weeks is huge.

Hope bolt is smart enough to start him against South Dakota state. Did we just find our missing piece to go on a run? If so, sucks it took so long. Like me finally figuring out my driver after 14 holes

It seems like major league guys that throw no-hitters are often not great their next start. Hopefully he doesn't try to do too much. I sure hope he gets another opportunity!
If we can go 9-1 then yes. Tough to sweep two teams though. I think 7-3 or 8-2 is a more likely outcome

Back one game. Illinois and Purdue are tied for first. Mich and Indiana are also just one game back so should be a fun finish. Purdue, ILL and Indiana are all bubble teams as of now
