Why do you all think this had any impact on Bamba? Bolden barely got PT this year, you think he's going to suddenly steal it from a guy like Bamba?
I only recall seeing him play in about 4-5 games. All you could say positive about him was his height.

The truth is Duke appears to have the minutes available. We do too, but its not as apparent. I think Bamba would play more here next season but Capel will be drilling into his head that we return Humphries, Gabriel, SKJ, Wynyard with Richards, Washington, and Vandy coming in. Its a loaded frontcourt no doubt, even if 1 or 2 leave. The thing is, none of those guys are stealing minutes from Bamba. He would play 30mpg minimum and everyone else has to fight for the rest and Washington and Vanderbilt have to prove they can play the 3 or the 4 and 5 are logjammed.

If they can bring him in and get him eligible, that will be quite the magic trick. But maybe they can.

I asked that question on the Duke board (3 different HS in 3 years)
Was told that was no problem....I'm sure Duke could get it done,

Kid was overrated a long time ago. He got to Duke and got buried in a roster with no competition. He is leaving Duke because he cant play at Duke. Nothing more. K will try to use this to get Bamba and Knox, but Bolden was leaving a month ago.

Same could happen with SKJ or Wynyard or even Hump..
Other coaches will use that for negative recruiting

I think I feel he reached out to cal similar to skj cal would give him a chance if he were to fit in here I would love to have him just to show puke how bad they are at developing players

Cal probably drilling it into Bamba's head that he'll have nobody good to practice against at Duke compared to the fierce competitions in practice here. I think we land him.

Bolden had zero affect on bam. Ok the end I think it will be tough for bamba to tell teo of his good friends he's going elsewhere. Having him and then Richards as a backup to play 20 mins a game would be really great

I can't remember the poster who called it I think it may have been LEK but I was on board from the get go. The kid loved him some big blue. All of this talk of him going to be a horned frog is hogwash

Come on down bolden

What's funny is that Bolden is a prime example of a very overrated player. When he committed to Duke he jumped in the NBA mock draft to a top 10 pick. He was compared to being a Okafor type player with a twist.

Just bias BS Duke hype at it's best! In the end, he is what he looked like in the all-star games & in HS games...OVERRATED!

Bamba would not make Duke good next year. They are screwed whether they land him or not.

People will say otherwise, and I'm sure they'll be a decent seed in the tournament..

But they have NO frontcourt now, and all their talent is now concentrated at 1 position: Shooting Guard. They still play in a very stout ACC, a conference that worked them pretty good this year. They will get feasted on next season.. and we still don't know what Allen, Jackson, Kennard are doing.

We are in the midst of Duke's fall from grace. The kingdom is on fire, and Coach K has to be looking at next season with a long gaze. Enjoy it, I know I will.

Don't believe it will happen? Maybe if Bamba tells Cal he's going elsewhere ? As I remember his Momma had some negative things to say about us? His pick last year was Ky all the way but his mother over ruled him. This is why I believe the parents should help these kids gather info in order to make the best decision but ultimately it needs to be the kids decision. Think that ship has sailed ?

I agree, K is done after this past season. The wheels are falling off. He got too caught up trying to keep up with Cal doing one and dones....thing is Cal can pull it off and K cant outside of 2015...even then he only had 2

Wounder how many college basketball writers are burning midnight oil tonight writing stories about Bolden and all these transfers. How duke had the #1 class and preseason #1 in every poll. How K choked with all that talent and coast the potential #1 pick millions of dollars for playing him when he was clearly injured and a shell of his former self.

How many?
