Also want to point out, that by this time last year, Duke already had their two top5 guys in Giles and Tatum.. K and company were able to get their guys early and focus on other recruiting and team needs, have extra flopping/tripping clinics, etc.. Not the case this year, they have no one yet.

This is Duke's best, and probably last chance to win the title with K. Not that he can't do it after, but in terms of a Final4 shoe-in.. this is it.

Carter is already in the bag for Duke, according to pretty much everyone.

Coleman probably is as well.

I think they will also land Trent.

They are likely focusing on Knox and Bamba now, which we are also after.

I predict they get Knox and we get Bamba.

I expect they get Jackson, Kennard, Jeter, DeLaurier, and White back.

I figure they will look something like this:

G Jackson/Coleman
G Kennard
G Trent/White
F Knox/DeLaurier
F Carter/Jeter

They probably sign a couple more 4 year guys as well.

I agree with all that except I think we land KNox or he goes elsewhere besides Duke.

Well glad we settled that. Duke gets every recruit they want. Lmfao.

I can't wait to see K have to scramble in recruiting with a bunch of so-so/decent holdovers. Enjoy the grind.

Trent and Carter are as close to done for Duke as possible.

Knox is about there too, apparently.

Coleman is expected.

That's what I've gathered from folks.

This is a very long thread for a guy sitting out an exhibition game.

Bolden hasn't figured out the Flopping defense Coach K has so he is sitting him out today.

well, you'd be surprise

Back in the days of CD players in cars, which also coincided with my a) single days and b) fast car days, I had a few of his albums sitting around in the vert Mustang. Used to love rolling down the boulevard listening to "I'm a Steady Rollin Man." Loved that car, and those days:)

LOL cd players - that's cute ;)
Still - love all the music from that era.
Btw, if that Mustang was newer than '73 then, well......:flush:

Hey now...! :)

It was a 2000 GT vert. Added a built motor, blower, brakes, suspension, tranny, shifter, gears, exhaust, fuel system, driveshaft, 11 inch wide drag radials on back, and a host of minor things... Only thing stock was the frame (not counting subframe connectors) and body. Put about a thousand miles a year on it. Car could move, and sounded like a beast. It wasn't a 1970 Boss, but it was still pretty good:)

well, the important thing is that you loved your car :D. On your built motor - I know stock was a 4.6L V-8; what did you put in it?

I will say - a lot of the classic muscle cars making a comeback look pretty good. The Mustang, Camaro, Charger, Challenger, et al - but not the Dart, that thing is just SAD.

2000 though?

Hah! Well yeah, it was the year 2000 and I wanted a car, so that's what I got:) I actually took delivery at the shop; I never drove it stock:) If I had waited a few years I would have gotten an 03 Cobra, but at the time nobody was sure if the Cobra was coming back...

I had the stock 4.6 block, with rods and pistons, a new crank... basically the bottom end done. Did heads and intake, but not cams... I didn't need a new block; I wasn't making some 800 HP monster:)

The new Challenger is AMAZING looking; just love that car. This one just nails it:

Nice! Yeah, the challenger is NOT a family friendly looking car... but damn it looks SO sharp. Charger looks good though, it has a nice mean front end.

And yeah, I had kids, so my ambitions had to be cut back... I blew my original motor, which is what lead to the second one... and for another four or so grand I could have been insane... nearly everything was upgraded to the extent needed with the exception of the top end... but I ran out of money. Or rather, I ran out of expendable money:)

I am more interested in the cars:)

Yeah, they said he was a little beat up after the week, was just being held out. Nothing more than that has come out. Maybe a nagging injury of some sort? They DID say that they were changing how practices were going to be handled as there seemed to be a number of injuries popping up, but didn't see anything else. Both Bolden and Tatum are expected for the first game of the year, with Giles back in 2 or so weeks.

Ah, so news just came out that Bolden is injured... a leg injury, on crutches, expected to miss at least the first two games.

The injuries are a bit insane already... really hoping this doesn't continue, because nothing is as frustrating as never having the full team on the floor.

I hope it doesn't continue either. I, for one, want Duke at 100%. Hoping for a UK-Duke matchup in April with both teams at full strength.

I've seen absolutely nothing to indicate Gary Trent Jr will be anywhere but Duke.

And yeah, this just sucks, as a fan. You get super excited to watch a team, and it just keeps getting clobbered. Hopefully all the guys will get healthy in the near future, but man, it sucks. I'm sure you guys have had similar moments... Imagine if Nerlens could have played, for example. Just sucks.

Three leg injuries with a serial tripper.

I'm jus' sayin
Makes you think of the 1890's in London, you know Jack the Tripper, they never caught him.

If a copycat(of the real Jack) shows up at UL the the whole recruiting system could be cut to pieces

I hope if they meet up that Duke has to play 3 walkons and 2 managers.

Never understood the mantra of "I hope they're at full strength". Why? So they have a better chance at beating UK?

Gimme the win whatever way and move on.
and their 6th man is an Egyptian,if the result of the game is a W by next week no one will remember who played anyway.

Simple. No excuses. Best to put your opponent down at the top of their game.
