I thought it would take a few years for the NCAA to start the discussions about banning postseason events in states with "anti-trans" laws, but with 20+ states with laws being debated, the NCAA is going to discourage states from passing them.

College sports are dying. The professional leagues can survive the woke stuff, college sports cant.

I agree. The NCAA is going to play hardball on this issue. Red state schools and states are going to have to either just concede to the NCAA’s political demands, smile and take their punishment, or go to war with the NCAA and fight back. Take your pick. In my mind, it’s time to start firing economic canons back in their direction.

I don't doubt that we may not host this year

MUch of this will be decided by their Covid Protocol. (or what ever that is).

One excuse is as good as another.

We will wait until next year to succeed from the NCAA.

They need a good kick in the nuts.

Sankey needs to tell Emmert that if it appears that the NCAA is discriminating against a deserving SEC team that no SEC teams will participate.

I understand we may not have the same belief system(and by that I mean Christianity) but if your from Mississippi you have got to understand this is the buckle of the Bible Belt. I would venture to say the vast majority of our state would be happy to take a stand against this crap even if it means not hosting. Its a total joke the NCAA could discriminate against us keeping a religious stance against something. We got to stand against this evil even if it means getting less of the almighty dollar.

huh?

so you’re in the “stand for nothing” camp?

He’s saying he doesn’t understand why MS passes political grandstanding laws that really hurt our state. This is almost bathroom bill 2.0. This problem would sort itself out naturally through sports organizations.

The simple answer is these people are trying to get re-elected.

What about the Christian groups (Episcopals, Evangelical Lutherans, some Methodists, most Jews*, etc.) who support L, G, B, T, and Q equality? Is it really appropriate for a state government to fight for your religious beliefs but against mine? Somehow I think you'd feel differently if the shoe were on the other foot...

* - ETA: I realize that's not a Christian group, but it is a prominent religious group in America.

Nobody is fighting against homosexuality or even if you wanna pretend you are a girl. Hell, I'm all for it. Sissy it up all you want. The point of the sports ban is so my 17 year old daughter who wants to wrestle or run cross country doesn't get her *** beat and lose a trophy she has been training for all her life to your 17 year old son who thinks he is actually a girl cause he likes to wear pretty dresses

Where is the so-called “inequality?” People born boys can compete with other people born boys. Anything else is a mental disorder.

I doubt the ncaa will follow through on much with this threat. They can’t really do what they did to MS in regards to the flag and say you can’t host “pre-planned events. Texas and Florida appear to be on the path to passing similar legislation as MS and others. NCAA host too many championship games in Florida and Texas to say they will never do that again.

This will be the end of the NCAA if they actually do try this. The big 12, SEC, probably most of the big 10 and most of the ACC will have laws similar to MS soon. The NCAA needs to those conferences/states more than those conferences/states need the ncaa.

The power 5 or most of the power 5 will leave the NCAA. They don’t really enforce any rules or much of anything so not sure how they have lasted this long.

As much as I was a fan of changing the flag, the people who argued “what’s next?” were exactly right. Today it’s this, tomorrow it will be something else.

The NCAA doesn’t care about baseball Regionals as they’re sitting in their cushy offices in Indianapolis. I doubt they even care about equal treatment of student athletes. It’s all about self preservation in fear of the angry mob. It’s the “Gotta tweet that black square to prove I’m not racist” mentality. This doesn’t prove a thing about them caring about the welfare of student athletes, it just appeases some left wing influencers on Twitter. They’ve proven over and over again they couldn’t care less about their student athletes getting fair treatment.

Our issue will be the fact.......

That we will have zero fight against this from our athletic director. How does the father of transgender daughter to son push back for our university? The answer: he does not!

Actually, you're wrong. And you better be glad you are wrong because if gender dysphoria was considered a mental disorder, it'd be called a disability and therefore covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.

Yeah... I’m conflicted. On one hand, the law is totally unnecessary and inviting trouble over a problem that doesn’t really exist. It’s political grandstanding by the right.

On the other hand, sports organizations (NCAA, MLB, NBA, etc) taking these left wing stands is really getting tiresome, and at some point people are going to have to say enough is enough.

Meanwhile it’s the average Joe moderate who pays the price for all of it. Can we just put both sides in a steel cage and lock the door?

Those are not “Christian Groups”. They are “Religious Groups”. Following Satan IS a religious activity. Gambling your family’s life savings away at the Casino IS a religious activity. Mowing the lawn on Sunday Morning IS a religious activity. But those things aren’t Christian. A Christian is a follower of Christ. Show me one instance, just one, where Christ met with a sinner, pointed out their sins, and then told them to go on doing them. Every single time Christ met with a sinner, and forgave them, He told them “Go and Sin No More!” If you ain’t going into every town, every neighborhood, every state, every country, every nation, every continent, and sharing the Gospel, you ain’t a Christian. If your church or denomination is telling people sinful lifestyle is okay, flee from that church! They are a false witness! Those who claim Christianity and tolerate sin will not enter into the kingdom of Heaven!

Heavenly Father, forgive me for being a part of a group that denies your Sovereignty over All things. I am ashamed of my sinful ways. Help me to be a mentor and not a protagonist! But in the name of Jesus, I rebuke the heathens who claim His name only to share Satan’s lies as their way to belong in this uncivil society! Amen

Exactly.

This isn't a religious issue. It's a cultural issue.

It’s not a cultural issue. It’s a reality issue. Men are better athletes than women on average. If we want women to be able to compete for championships, in most athletic endeavors that’s going to require separate leagues. It makes zero sense for men to compete with women because they fee they are transgendered. The different leagues are based on biology, not what people fee their gender is. There is no reason for men who are transgendered to switch leagues. If women who are transgendered want to switch leagues, I don’t see a big problem with that but it will rarely be an issue.

Dealing with intersex people is complicated and requires trade offs. Dealing with transgendered athletes is simple we just have people making it complicated because they want to show they are part of the right group.

Its definitely a mental illness. This wasn't such an issue 40 years ago. Sure, you had a few gay guys here and there and a few lesbians and I agree that they should not be discriminated against because of their sexual desires. But the gay guys are still guys. Maybe it has to do with lower testosterone these days or something chemical but its not normal. And the powers that be are trying to normalize it and make you pretend along with them. I may not be very smart but I have too much common sense to go along with it.

Yeah. That was on me for letting Satan open that door. My apologies to the board and to 57Stratdawg. I let my emotions get the best of me in a very sensitive matter.
