No link but Diaco gets a pass. Hard to win with the pony's we have on our D. Blame Riley for bringing his buddy Banker with him. That set our defense to the dumpster.

Agree, I don't know how much of the D issues is coaching and how much is just crappy players. I am leaning towards poor players.
You mean like the 2002 defense that had terrible players and then the 2003 defense didn't? Or like the 2007 defense that had terrible players and then the 2008 defense didn't? It is 100% COACHING. Diaco as a defensive genius is like a unicorn....a mythical creature that does not really exist.
Yes to the 2003 defense but our 2008 defense was not good. It was improved from the previous year but not good. Our offense that year did a great job moving and controlling the clock to keep our D off the field, thank you Joe Ganz.
This team is hard to tell. Our D-lineman provide zero push and our linebackers are as bad as I can remember. The lack of pressure hurts our DB's immensely. So I will attribute our lineman and linebackers as lack of talent. Yes, there are some things that coaching can help but our development from the past three years has been really, really bad.
You mean our 3 defensive linemen can't get a push on their 5 offensive lineman? Man, they really do suck.
Not defending the guy but hard on the defense when you throw 3 picks.

Btw our scheme sucks *** too. People with 3-4 backgrounds agree.
I had high hopes for Diaco. He sucks.
We need to upgrade athletically on defense big time. This isn’t an excuse for Diaco or my attempt to give him some sort of pass, just stating facts.
This staff reminds me of the French Government during WWII
We've also been playing 4-3 the past couple of weeks. We're not athletic or strong enough to create a push. Our DB's do have talent but are raw and are left for dead due to the lack of push. Banker did nothing to develop our young guys and actually ran a few guys off to the NFL (Valentine & Collins).

Good looking out. Maybe we'll witness a Buddy Ryan-Jeff Fisher type of moment between Langsdorf and Diaco. It would at least be more entertaining than the football we are watching. Laughing

I hope that Riley positively DOES finish the season.....or at least this clown is never our interim.....
He definitely does but damn his hair looked good today.
Can you imagine getting instruction from him as a player? Every press conference I have seen from UCONN to here leaves me wondering what he said.

I personally believe disco has had a negative impact on the program and he has sped up the firing of Riley
I honestly had no idea Diaco was such a flake. If I hear one more grown man(yes SE I'm talking to you) quote The Energy Bus, I'm going to lose it. That book is written for 5th graders....I literally couldn't make it through the first chapter it was so juvenile.
Note to Husker Leadership: During all future interviews, ask the applicants if they have read The Energy Bus from cover to cover. If they answer yes tell them to get the hell off campus.

Whatever... My issue is with the offense and that is where my focus will remain. Why is nobody asking why Tanner keeps making the same mistakes? Why won't they design a run for him? For years now it has been like a horrible decision making nightmare. One right after the next. For God's Sake, Can We Not Get A Good OLINE To Go With A Good QB And QB Coach. Where is Cav after the game? Why is he not ever asked any obvious tough questions?

This loss is totally on the offensive play calling coming down to the end with the lead.End of Story.
If we're ever going to resurrect the Blackshirt defense, we need an attacking scheme. Bring in someone who will truly attack.

French had 200000 casualties in the one month battle during the Fall of France...similar to what the Americans experienced in 13 months of war in Europe...so I would say those 200000 were courageous enough.
IMO, he's a large part of the reason for our record. Banker at least could play Wisconsin tough. I don't understand what the hell Diaco is trying to do with our D. I think he's cost us games this year.
