Well if you paid attention to how he recruited those last two years when he was trying to get fired, you would have seen this coming. In his mind, mission accomplished.

2013 - 17th
2014 - 32nd
Smilin' Mike's 1st two years:
2015 - 31st
2016 - 24th
Yep. Dang facts. No matter how many times people kept repeating “recruiting is improved”. It was virtually the same.
What was Bo's rivals ranking his first year? 30. That would be a better comparison to MR's first year. So Bo's first year was 30th, his second year was 28th, his last full year was 32nd. That's apples to apples. Basically similar to Riley. I don't think there's any question that Bo would have recruited better if he would have had a better public persona. Losing is what's hurt Riley's recruiting.

I understood that. I also understand that while there were holes in the roster especially at linebacker when Riley over there is no excuse for what our D did today. None. My point was that Riley and Bo have recruited roughly the same so the recruiting ranking alone is not a good excuse. Holes in that ranking at certain positions might explain some of it, but that defensive effort today was all Diaco.
Eichorst didn’t help Pelini’s last class either. Most thought he was getting fired after the loss to Iowa at home.
People like you just do not understand how the game works. Go off the Rivals rankings all you want, but take a look at the seniors and juniors on the roster. Then go watch them play (the ones that are actually playing). Bo sabotaged the program on his way out. All there is to it. The next coach -- much like Solich and Pelini did -- will at least have some promising athletes to work with.

Bo Pelini is a classless POS and I don't doubt he would gloat over Nebraska's misfortunes. His gift to college football was brainwashing players to hate the very athletic department and fans supporting them.

Bo is a better coach than Mike period. Bo told the truth, and the truth sometimes hurts. He all told you what a POS Eichorst was, but you didn't listen. Bo gets to laugh all he wants, because he was once again right. Nebraska doesn't deserve another chance. It's earned the right to be a bottom feeder, in perpetuity. Welcome to the new normal, and it's partially your own fault.
Just yesterday my son and I had this same discussion, and in the end we both came to the conclusion NU was a better football program under that freaking dork, and that hurt both of us to admit. Now is he grinning from ear to ear? Probably, and I would be to.
