Bump. While I don't agree with the "this is Jersey" comment, we all should recognize the shady past of Bo!!!!

Guy has a shady past.

I don't think we should let this go.

We know what we saw.

This is Jersey for Christ's sake.

From the article:

"He's one of the best guys in our league," one Big Ten coach told ESPN.com.

A source told ESPN.com that Boroski was found to have accessed his own game assignments. However, the same source said he was not obtaining sensitive information regarding other officials.

The Collegiate Officiating Consortium -- which comprises several conferences, including the Big Ten -- said in a statement to ESPN.com that the access issues were corrected and disciplinary action was taken against the individuals involved.

"The integrity of the officiating program is paramount, and we appreciate the cooperation of all involved throughout the process," the statement said.

Boroski told ESPN.com on Thursday that there was "no malicious intent" on his part.

"It was stupid," said one referee, who requested anonymity and will not work this season. "It fell in our lap, but it wasn't with ill intent. We're not computer hackers. We're kicking ourselves why we did it, but it fell in our lap."

Article is from 2014. I think RU has a grievance in regards to yesterdays game, but this story doesn't have much by way of incriminating evidence.

Oh my Gawd. This is so shady. How can the game survive. 🙄

Are you implying that quote makes him look better? People are only wondering if he is fixing his own games not games he isn't reffing. No one is saying he is running some elaborate scheme involving all B1G refs

What exactly could boroski have done with that “restricted” officiating data?

Fixing his own games? Where does that come from?

That article referenced checking out what referees are paid but says he just checked his schedule.

Look I get it. He made a bad call or two, Rutgers lost the game and you guys are upset. I totally get that. I'm still angry about the Immaculate Deception.

But going back six years to find an article about something that doesn't even appear to be overly serious seems over-the-top.

The point is he has a history of shadiness including the UNC Arkansas NCAA game where they put UNC on the line for every non dunk for the last 3 minutes plus.

I'm not saying he did fix the game. I'm saying for the first time it actually seems like a possible legitimate explanation. He also has a history of calling terrible games against Rutgers so something is going on. I'm sure it occasionally happens unless you think Tim Donaghy is the only one ever to do so which seems a bit naive

We lost. Refs sucked. This crews sucks. It happens. Illinois fans were complaining about refs after our game. Move on. Big game Tuesday. Need JY back and at a high level.
Yeah these types of calls aren't new. You can't deny that Myles has been at the receiving end of lazy **** calls for a while now. What infuriates me is that "oh the refs are human," yeah well then they knew that they were handing the game to OSU by making these calls, so they had better be good calls... they weren't.

Hate to say it and I know it's not possible because he'd have graduated but this was a perfect game for E. Omoruyi - post guys his height trying to bully defenders in the paint? He would spend half the game flat on his back.

It's really sad. Myles: incredible positioning, stands his ground: usually in foul trouble. Eugene: flopped around like he was auditioning as a stunt man, drew a ton of bad calls. College refs, man.

Speaking of flops...how about that flop call on Ron? I’ve seen that called for a charge hundreds of times in the college game. I didn’t even think it was that egregious on Ron’s part, he literally waited for the OSU player to dip his shoulder and went to the ground upon contact, very little embellishment imo

I guess you risk a flop call every time you sell an offensive foul. What was bizarre that they never went to the monitor to see if it was a flagrant on the OSU player. When do you ever see a guy take (or feign) contact to the face and the refs not give it a look on replay? Talking about the #5 scorer in the country and a guy who powers through contact regularly on the offensive end and rarely draws charges. Makes you wonder. Really makes you wonder.

It’s hilarious when they called that flop on Ron when guys flop on Myles almost every he backs them down . Instead of calling flops, he usually gets called for charges because he is the bigger player . He really is targeted. Funny how it doesn’t work both ways

Serious enough to be banned from calling B1G games for a year, I guess. At this point, he's our new officiating villain - when fans are back in the building, I'm sure he'll get as much of an earful as Higgins/Burr used to get going forward. Some people seem to be doing homework to see what sorts of heckling they can throw at him.

Another legitimate explanation is that he had a bad day. It happens. Or maybe he is crooked. I dunno 🤷🏾‍♂️

Kenpom seems to regularly have Boroski ranked in the top-10 in referee rankings. I have zero idea how Kenpom does referee rankings.

Donaghy likely wasn't the only one but until right now I haven't thought about him or referees fixing games since the Donaghy scandal. I've got other stuff to do.

I haven't either... until I watched this game. That's the point lol

I think this is a milestone that makes us full fledged Big Ten basketball fans. Having a ranked team that's competitive, and having the experience, like so many other B1G hoops fanbases, of realizing that there is some frustratingly bad refereeing going on in the conference, and having the experience of your team getting jobbed.
