Am getting ready to retire to Sun City near Hilton Head. Anybody Cats fans out there ? Was thinking with Sun City with a population of 12,000 retirees there have to be some WildCat fans. Thinking about creating a Big Blue Nation club once down there.

Ferris Bueller.... Anyone, anyone ???

There’s a seafood place at ColignyPlaza on Hilton Head that’s owned by a UK fan from Owensboro. Or at least there used to be. That’s a good place to start.

I've eaten there before. They got a ginormous "Big *** Fan" in the main dining room

Good food.

Interesting, can you share why you would be retiring in this smaller South Carolina town? Believe it or not, we are thinking of retiring back to Lexington from Florida!

I wish my dad would do that. Moved from Kentucky (Irvine) to Florida just outside of Gainesville at 15 and has missed it for 42 years. Retires in 5. I told him he needs to go back but he's considering North Carolina. SMH.

My advice is like others said, wear the Big Blue proud wherever you go, we're everywhere. I get comments on my Kentucky shirt everytime I wear it in Tampa, so I'd imagine there are some in South Carolina.

Look up a guy named Roger Janson. Big UK fan and retired early and living in Sun City for 10 years. I think he works for the golf course. Main Street Cafe in Hilton Head has All You Can Eat Crab Legs. Best crab legs I have eaten.

Steamers. But it's closed. Opened up the same restaurant in Bowling Green. Doesn't help you in Blffton, understand

I live in Port Royal, near Beaufort. There are a few UK fans in the area. We are massively outnumbered by Ohio State fans down here though.

Was a 30 year resident of the Lexington area, moving to NC for the past 20 years due to a job opportunity.

Hilton Head has always been our vacation destination over the years. Sun City is a rather large retirement community about 20 mins from the beaches of Hilton Head. Lots of activities and clubs for the retiree and a golf haven in that area which attracts me.

As far as being a smaller SC town, I believe there is a population of 250K within 30 mins., including Beaufort SC and Savanah GA, along with Hilton Head itself. It gets pretty dang hot in the summer but short of Fla. hot. Winter temps are rarely in the freezing range.

We're looking forward to cheering on the Cats from a new location.

My parents live in Bluffton and my dad (UK grad) got an alumni gathering for a game together a few years back, but the interest wasn't there for some reason. I believe they got together at The Lodge right off of Sea Pines circle. Dale at Steamers is a great guy and as others have mentioned a WKU guy. They did recently relocate to Shelter Cove, which is a great area. I've noticed that Frosty Frog over in Coligny has some UK stuff and have seen UK folks hang there too.

Congrats!

You're thinking of Steamer's. It has closed in Coligny with a new location opening in he redeveloped area at Shelter Cove. Dale Augenstein is the owner and is from Owensboro, but he's a big WKU guy. WKU memorabilia was all over the old place. Steamer's also does concessions at WKU football and basketball games. The new alumni center is named after him (guessing he wrote a big check).

Captain Woody's is owned by a UK alum. Lots of UK gear hanging up in there.

Me and the Mrs. just enjoyed a great vacation at Sea Pines HH. Met and talked with Digger Phelps’s sister in the checkout line at Walmart. She noticed my wife’s UK apparel and was very nice. The Adidas thing had just been announced. Loved the whole trip and will be back. Good luck to you!

Man oh man! Didn't realize this was a thing, but I live in port royal, sc! Enjoy sun city. Seems to be an okay place the couple of times I've been there for work.

Back when I didn't own a tv and the streams were iffy, I'd hit up bricks on boundary or tail gators to watch games. Tailgators closed at half time of the national championship game in '12. Found a sports bar just inside the bluffton city limits to finish watching.

I second Captain Woodys. Was there during bball season last year and watched a game there with a few other local U.K. fans.
