I hate Michigan as much as the next guy, but to not have the all time leader in wins in the history of the sport plus they were the most recent national champ as a true blue blood is just assinine.
I have to agree.

Iowa is not anywhere close to being a fringe blue blood.
I would move Iowa down to Tier 4 and probably replace them with Auburn.

what is a blue blood ?

"Blue blood" is a term used to describe people of noble or aristocratic lineage, essentially referring to those born into wealthy and powerful families. It is a figurative expression, as human blood is never actually blue;

This would be my list:

Tier 1 - True Blue Blood - Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Georgia
Tier 2 - Fringe Blue Blood - Penn State, Oregon
Tier 3 - Legacy Blue Blood - Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Southern Cal, Tennessee, LSU
Tier 4 - Elite Program - Auburn, Iowa, Texas A&M, Wisconsin

I would switch out the order of Tier 2 and Tier 3. To me, Fringe Blue Blood means they're currently a great program right on the cusp of being a blue blood whereas the Legacy Blue Bloods are programs that were once blue blood, but have slipped in the current environment (last 15 years or so). So to me it's more important where you're at currently than where you used to be at.

Wisconsin is more blue blood than Iowa... as much as it pains me to say it. Oregon way more. Auburn is less than Wisconsin and Oregon. I'd say Wisconsin and Oregon before Auburn, Alabama isn't a blue blood state. It's poor.

Nebraska would only fit into the “legacy blue blood” category above. Certainly, not a “current” or “fringe” blue blood program.
The term blueblood, by definition, is only about the entire body of work of a football program. iowa is currently enjoying its’ most successful 10 year run while nebraska is suffering it’s worst. The iowa tool that made that list is definitely a poster on this board and the poster boy for “little bro hawkeye fan”. Congrats on the 60th straight offseason natty though.

Not. Wisconsin had a good run but it was short lived historically and they were crap for a lot of years.

We just do not recruit well enough to be on the tier 3 list. I'd question whether we qualified for tier 4

iowa and Wisconsin are essentially the same in football history.
"Essentially". At least Iowa did make claims to some titles in the 57-60 time period. And for the record I've never said Iowa was "a blue blood". Just that other then a stretch under Barry and a few years under Bret Wisconsin has done very little in the last 50 years, and won less games then Iowa.

Modern era is all that matters, 1962 (essentially no more segregation) to present. AP, UPI, Coaches Poll, BCS or CFP natty’s are the only legit nattys.

The last thing current with little debbie would be listening to the Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys CDs. And when asked to "Google it" the reply would be "what's that".

It's just so Nebraska to point to the past to cope with the present.

Those pesky B1G games keep getting in the way.
It’s just so iowa to point to college football 2002-present to cope with the fact their team is historically average and presently slightly above average.
Those pesky stats and facts keep getting in the way.

The problem is Nebraska believes it's history is sacred.

Youre like the big broad in church that cuts a fart and angrily turns around when people start giggling.

It's too much to expect people to not point and laugh. There's a lot of material there.

You’ll be an old, old man before Nebraska’s history stops mattering.
Iowa is like the transgender lady at church…..

Nebraska's history has stopped mattering for some time now.

You've had a parade of coaches and "Frost warnings"/comic books...all ending like your life.

Abject failure.

I'm enjoying it as it's happening!!!!

He tries so hard. Keep working little fella, you will make a valid point some day.
Surprised he didn’t go with ‘it only matters when St. Tom sold his soul, character and morals to the devil because Switzer was beating him.’
because as he said, facts matter.

When no one currently playing the sport of football has any memory of a team being elite, then that team's history stops mattering.

It's over, dude. But I do get entertained by Husker fans thinking that it isn't, so carry on.
