You should rush to crash the selection committee meeting with your brand-new info and show them the error of their ways......

Or.......repeat the same impotent spiel here for the 17th time.

Whichever works for you.

UNC will get the #1 seed. The reasoning will be the one stat you left off. Top 25 RPI wins. That is what will decide it, unfortunately.

Wow, assuming this is UK/UNC and there is talk of UNC being #1 overall seed? Appears Team A has the better resume.

Is anyone shallow enough, committee I'm thinking of right now, to think that there's much difference between RPI 25 and 50.
Moreover, is this they only reasoning they can find to stick UNC above UK. Pretty weak.

Head to head should trump any of that minimal number game.

Record against RPI top 25:

UNC: 5-3
UK: 2-4, with 2 losses at home.

That's the difference, right there. And UK probably can't overcome it. If there was another top 10 team in the SEC, OK, but there isn't. And as good as Florida's computer numbers are, and as tough as their OOC was, they lost all the big games. Lost to Gonzaga, lost to Duke, lost to Fla St.

That has to carry some concrete weight, right?
ALL CONFERENCE HOME GAMES TOO, I MIGHT ADD.

LMAO the "brand-new" part was sarcasm.......smh

Just wondering if you really think impotently repeating the same little message over and over will accomplish anything at all.

The truth you're avoiding is that if we had beaten ONE of UCLA, UL, or Kansas, then we'd have the 1 nailed down.....

I think the committee might look at things a little different than some of these ACC homers.

Bingo. And UK had a chance to make a huge statement when they played at Florida, and instead laid the biggest egg of the season.

I'll complain as much as anyone when I think UK is getting shafted. I about had an aneurysm last year, and in 2014, and in 2011. Getting a 2 seed this year will not qualify as UK getting shafted.

I could care less if UK gets a 1 or a 2, pretty much same deal. I just don't like how they try to sell the fact that UNC is so much more worthy when basic analysis says different. Last I checked, UNC pushed a few eggs out themselves. AND LOST TO UK.

Here is the reality, it doesn't matter because team A and Team B will likely be in the same region, meaning one will likely have to beat the other to go to the Final Four, and thus extend their championship hopes. Isn't that why we play the tournament to begin with?

I agree, IMO it's because the top 4 are so weak (as compared to previous years), and we are so used to getting the shaft...it just sets up BBN fans for always feeling that way (esp. when UNC and Duke seem to always get the benefit of doubt and/or easy brackets)

It's close, only looking at your selective data if I had to pick I would go A (UK), but I think when you show top 25 wins, Team B (UNC) unfortunately shows slightly better.

I agree with much of what you are saying. However, as a UNC-hating UK fan I still have to admit that UNC does get a decent amount of slack bc of the conference they play in. The ACC is STACKED.

As mentioned, UK could have easily gotten the "1" seed over UNC. Just needed one more marquee win. Laid an egg at UF; Choked at home against KU; just wasnt in the cards this year. The major difference between the two is the top 25 wins. I also think the SEC was way down this year. Most of the time that doesnt effect UK if they just take care of business and win the big games.

I am still anxious about the "2"seed honestly. B/c you know if Uk falters in any way in the SEC tourney, the committee will punish them. They dont award UK for winning the conference tourney, but they sure will penalize them.

That is the answer right there. Also, if you dive deeper into the numbers, 5 of UK's 9 wins against RPI top 50 are against teams ranked between 45-50 in the RPI. So, UK has 4 wins against teams in the RPI top 40. 2 of UNC's 10 wins vs RPI top 50 are in the 44-50 range. 8 of UNC's wins are against RPI top 40 teams.

I don't even think the top 4 are that weak. Compared to a really stacked year, like 2015? Yeah. But it's not that unusual, at all, for a 7 loss team to get a 1. UK fans are just noticing it more this year because it's UNC, and because UK beat them.

3 of the 4 one seeds last year had 6 or more losses. Michigan State got a 1 with 7 losses in 2012.

Don't forget that RPI top 25 record.

Team A
2 - 4

Team B
5 - 3

And that Team B has an RPI of 4 and Team A has an RPI of 7.

And that 4 of Team A's 9 RPI top 50 wins are barely inside the top 50.

You should have just came out and said UK and UNC. I still don't think we deserve a 1 seed despite a head to head victory at a neutral site.

A point in our favor that gets left out is that UNC's best win away from home was at Wake.

Our best win away from home was vs. UNC.

But there's no doubt that UNC did a better job protecting their home court. And that should be enough to give them the nod. Assuming they win tomorrow.

It comes down to top 25 wins. They have 5 and we have 2. If we had beat either Kansas, Louisville or UCLA we would have the last #1.

I still like us on a neutral court in Memphis if it happens

If we beat any of KU we would be the overall 1. We would be number 1 in both polls and losses matter too not just wins
