If you're a top recruit looking at B1G schools - with offers between RU and OSU - a player would be flaky to go to RU. This RU team would struggle in the BE. I dont know how to fix recruiting except maybe a celeb coach with NFL cred - or a coach like Ron Zook who takes players on boat rides with THOTs

If RU doesn't score against OSU today, Ash needs to feel the fire of the hot seat. 3 games and 0 points against OSU is beyond pathetic. Send him back to Drake where it's more his speed.

Ash is safe as can be the cheapest school and fan base owes him 10 Million. He is is not going anywhere. He is free to continue to recruit non BIG type players because none with power 5 offers are coming. Are we gonna start a Fund for a new coaching staff? Lol I’m sure all the diehards will step up like they did with the BIG Fund.

I don't believe it's Blazek. The problem is Rutgers can't recruit against the likes of Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan State, Michigan, or Wisconsin. Probably won't change in my lifetime.

Plenty of mid-majors have played competitive games against all of those teams.

Even Oregon State who went 1-11 last season and is arguably the worst team in football played Ohio State better last week.

We need to stop using this excuse. Boise State didn't need it. And speaking of, Chris Peterson turned a mediocre Washington program into a giant in no time.

It's coaching, plain and simple, and it has always been coaching. After 3 years, a defensive guru should have been able to make improvements.

It is very tough these days being a Knicks, Mets and Rutgers fan.

Look, I understand everyone loves him but he can’t recruit, and he can’t get the right personnel on the field to even stand a chance. They were getting beat at times by Texas St. He doesn’t even develop these guys- I understand he’s a great guy, but coaching comes first!
He has developed a pipeline to Sweeden for big athletic kids tho...

the the problem is coaching, plenty of other schools have competitive the problem is coaching, plenty of other schools have competitive games against the big boys with far lower-rated recruits. I get it no one wants to admit they are wrong but the truth is, Ash is not a good coach

Then why can he get no good recruits???

I do not think you understand how hard it is to develop college linemen. Our team is very, very young. It also does not help when a team does not have to fear the pass and can bring as many as they want.

We litterly don’t have a RT. He was an undersized, out of shape DL that was converted.

I don't get it....the ol know what play is being called .....the defense has to guess and we still struggle to block a straight up one on one battle. A battle that needs to be one for only several seconds.

Blazek was offered a job at Iowa this past year, he turned it down. .he got a pay bump..He is highly regarded as a O-line coach..If we want a better Oline coach I heard the pro team Atlanta Falcons have a great coach..K.Flood..
