In what measurements of performance would this ever be true???
Final Fours?
Championships?
NCAA games?
Conference Championships?

I mean just give me one quantifiable way that Barnes is a better coach?

If you cant support your statement retract it or go away

Moronic fly-by “look at me” post. Nothing more.

If that's his choice then it's clear all he cares about is being the man on an average team. Not going to a title possibility like UK or a good team like Florida shows his talk about caring about winning was never really true.I just don't understand it.

UF would be the most logical choice other than UK. If he goes to UT who gives up their scholarship. No doubt UT will find a way to add him even though they have no scholarships at this time.

DIDNT ut just lose a transfer to Nebraska? There are creative ways to get around scholarships evidently they have and idea or they wouldnt even pursue him

Jake has been the only one that's been close to the UK side of the situation. He's local/regional...he knew when the visits were happening and what our coaches were doing...he was the first to break it...

He's the only one that seems to have been accurate and has knowledge from inside the KBJ camp.

Everyone else is just getting info from the UT staff and Cal's people usually don't talk to the national guys...

Matt Jones, TJ Walker, Kyle Tucker...the local guys keep saying they have no direct knowledge outside of the national people. Actually surprising Tucker doesn't since he used to cover sports in Virginia

So apparently Barnes is telling Blackshear that he will build the entire offense around him. Seems kind of pathetic and desperate, but maybe that is what Blackshear wants

That's what I was going to say. People are saying how would our players feel if Cal says this or that. What about the TN players. They have 13 so one guy knows if Blackshear comes he's losing his scholarship. Way to go, Barnes, you piece of ****. All this smoke seems to be coming from peoples asses. I haven't read one credible thing yet that makes me feel like it's TN besides this board. And I have googled everything. I think we are still in it and that's why he is done with visits after us and was just waiting for the draft buzz to die down to announce. Otherwise, why would visits and all stop right after the visit with us?

Isn't that what the NBA is all about for guys in 2nd round territory...being able to play on a team with multiple great players?

So much for the information that being “the man” wasn’t important to him and he was more focused on winning a title. Lol pathetic

Yeah, but you will play on a **** team in rebuild mold that could miss the Tourney and probably can't beat UK or FL LOL. Be the man and put tons of pressure on yourself to win games alone and look bad when you fail, sounds like an amazing plan.

I keep going back to the fact that his official visit ended half a day early....it feels like something happened. Was it something negative or positive???

Cal had a scheduled flight around 5 for the NBA draft. I think it’s safe to say that Cal waved the family goodbye before he left, and they headed home.

I don’t understand the point of scheduling a visit on a day where Cal only had minimal time with a recruit. To me, it screams out that we are way too overconfident in ourselves.

We aren’t winning a title with Richards/Montgomery manning the 5. We took a huge drop off anytime they were in the game this year.

Well, another impact post player is trending away from us.

I don’t think we win the SEC or get Tom FF with current front court.

Yea, because god knows improvement is impossible. Bet you said the same about PJ last year.

So the only thing we can hope for at this point is that people are intentionally putting out misdirection, I doubt it , but maybe.

It is odd that everything has been very closed lip and with no leaks, but now all of a sudden all this UT info has been leaked

Well no more excuses for Nick and EJ.We have good guards and a good small forward. Some complained EJ didn't get enough playing time so now Nick/EJ get all the playing time they want and it's time for them to produce and show their high school rankings meant something.Sestina will have to prove he can play at this high level.Whether these things happen is our hope for a Final Four IMO.

Are you a schmuck or what? You think Mike Young, from Boise State is anything close to Rick Barnes?

I suspect you won't even respond. You probably thought Buzz was still the coach.

Idiot.

For sure a weird turn of events if he chooses UT over UK. Oh well, as others have already stated, IF this occurs, it will solidify the idea Cal can't get that "final piece" to put together a favored title contender.

I think we're still a contender without him, but he gives us a post presence we simply do not have in Richards or EJ. Hopefully one or both have improved to the point of at least be capable of handling the position.

My bad. We are winning a title next year. 38-2. Gonna WIN THE WHOLE DAMN THING. Have channeled my inner homer mechanism. Thank you sir.

Just breathe, Mike. Who next year other than Michigan State can match us? We have as good of a shot as anyone next year. No guarantee, but to not see that is ignorant and pessimistic, at best.

Yeah, something happened, like Cal being in a hurry to head to the draft.

KB isn't a high school kid, but he still wants to be wanted.

It’s simple. Either Blackshear wants to go to the NBA or he doesn’t. Either he wants to compete for a NCAA title or he doesn’t. Either he wants to opportunity to improve his midrange game competing against NBA caliber athletes everyday or he doesn’t. Either he wants to lose to UK 2-3 times this year or he doesn’t. Either he wants to play for a HOF coach or he doesn’t.

Cal’s pitch was a simple one: Come play for us one season and I’ll get you drafted with my many connections inside the NBA or go elsewhere putting up the same numbers that wasn’t good enough to get you drafted this year.

I’m sure Cal could at very minimum ask Pat Riley to give him a 2nd round late pick up but you can’t fault Cal for not handcuffing him to his desk.

I do find it weird all of the insiders came out saying it was a done deal to UK after no leaks up until that moment, extensively taking away Blackshear’s moment. Now all of the sudden he’s a lock to Tennessee. It seems like misdirection we have been on the receiving end of so many times except this time, Cal has jumped on board with his quotes. Is this Cal giving Blackshear his moment?

I guess we will see if Blackshear wants to be a millionaire or if he doesn’t.

Be careful. Said the same thing when EJ decided to come back when most acted like #9 was in the bag. Got everyone all riled up.

And you are completely correct sir!!

If he picks UT it's obvious he was never coming here because it's all about being the man.
No, I think it's as simple as Rick Barnes making KB a priority. Sounds like RB wanted him more.

Sounds like this is going to be another year where we had the final piece we needed and let him off the hook.
