We will know in 24 hours but I think you are incorrect . I have yet to see any evidence UT is the favorite. That comment was clearly saying it wasn't a 2 team race . And if it was a 1 team race Daniels would of said " he has made his decision " Some people dismantle every little thing and try to paint it negative when in reality any of the non UT board stuff at best makes it sound like he hasn't made up his mind . That's all I saying . I will leave it at that.
Not arguing, and I misspoke when I said UT was the leader. I should have said it appears UK is not in good shape any longer.

If Blackshear comes here that's great, if he has pro aspirations and wants to be a winner and be noticed Kentucky will be his choice. If he chooses another path and goes to Tennessee so be it, Kentucky will beat Tennessee with him just like they did Virginia Tech.

Ok well that does make more sense . I think Cal was hedging his bets there as he can't bash his guys just in case KB goes elsewhere BUT at least that makes some sense . I do think there is a chance we don't get him BUT we do have a better shot then anyone else . As everything adds up to that ( last visit , having all he wants ect ) but you do never know . We do see kids make horrible decisions all the time. I will say if he aint coming here please go to UT as it won't matter there . At UF he could be a top 10 team UT isn't a top 30 team regardless.

We will know soon though thankfully.

After Mcdaniels and now this, following basketball recruiting is beginning to become as futile as football. No point in following it really. Just wait and see what happens, and pay no attention to any “sources”.

it is fun to follow recruiting
just do not take it to serious until they are on campus

I think people are reading into a very vague comment by Cal way too deeply and that is the smoke. At the SEC media day, Cal brought up his frontcourt and said we have one guy at center and what if he gets hurt. I guess I would start 4 guards for the first time, but we would figure it out. Cal is never going to sound defeated in a comment and he hasn't seemed to be hot on any reclass kid so I think Blackshear still becomes a Wildcat.

I just can't imagine TN, it almost seems like a joke. He would be way better off at FL, but that would make them dangerous. So if it isn't us even though I hate TN maybe it's better he goes there instead of FL because I don't see TN doing **** after losing everyone. TN doesn't reload. Anything could happen at this point, hell Cal could be throwing out some misdirection, but for what this kid needs and says he wants he really should be us and then FL. TN would be a very poor decision and kind of a lateral move from VT. I mean their in the SEC with us.

Not looking good for UK.

Makes no sense to me. If you are going to pick UT why not just stay at VTech???

Big blow if it’s not UK. Go from legit title contender to a top 10ish team, IMO.

I'm going down with the boat. Blackshear is coming! I'm not losing confidence! (Hey if I'm wrong, I'm wrong!)

He's obviously torn. UT gave him a good visit, but he knows Kentucky is the best situation for him personally. He would've committed at UT. If that was the case. UT is using Reid Travis' dad's comments against us I guarantee. Every other school kissed up to him...CAL gave him the honest and usual.

I'm just going to say...UT has 13 scholarship players...if Barnes forces a player off scholarship and promises Blackshear 20-30 shots a game...let him. Kerry is smart...he knows where to go to get drafted.

When there is this much smoke it’s usually correct. Sure there are instances when it’s not, but not for UK as of late.

I usually don't get upset about recruiting, however, based on what Blackshear was saying, UT makes absolutely no sense to him. UK fits his criteria even from an unbiased point of view.

I suspect the program will survive and thrive, regardless of whatever this decision turns out to be.
Many act like it will collapse and fold if it doesn't go our way.
It wouldn't shock me if KB chooses us or UT. Barnes is a pretty good recruiter, and Cal is, obviously, as elite of recruiter as there ever has been.

Tucker is being supremely naive if he thinks Cal’s statement there indicates defeat or even any tiny change from the way he’s always handled every single recruit. Cal always has and always will handle every recruit like players handle girls. “You could be special enough to be involved. Or not.” It’s strong psychology and if it weren’t, there wouldn’t be players.

Now there may well be something—else—that indicates things have changed for UK as of this morning. But it sure as shooting isn’t this quote by Cal.

Honestly, this should have been a slam dunk for Cal. Just act like you want the guy and point to the friggin' wall that shows all the kids he's put in the NBA.

But if he shrugged his shoulders and acted like it's no big deal if he comes or not, then yeah, I can understand why KB would go to a school that is desperate for what he brings.

One thing is for sure, we have lots and lots of fraud insiders.
And this board loves 'em. Year after year.

Ben Roberts: The Herald-Leader was told Saturday morning that Kentucky is now looking less likely to be the destination for Blackshear, who visited UK earlier in the week but has also taken recruiting trips to Tennessee, Florida and Arkansas this month.

Cal does not say anything concerning recruiting without a purpose

Blackshear could be going to another school or.......
Cal could be setting a smoke screen like he and Blackshear's dad did right after they first contacted the Blackshear's

With his choices, if Kerry doesn't pick UK or FL then maybe that's why he didn't make it to the NBA this year. Just saying, forget bias those are the only 2 on his list that adds up to make any sense with what he needs and has said. TN has never done anything and just lost everything. They will be middle of the pack next year, should have followed Buzz or stayed at VT if true. This isn't rocket science. I still feel like he will be a cat. If I'm wrong it's because I can't believe someone could make such a poor decision.

nevermind, looks like Smashcat beat me to the punch with Roberts' quote. Although he gets his info from recruiting analysts, and I don't think they know much more than someone that can use Google. But it does seem like the mojo has switched from us to Tennessee with Blackshear.

Cal a month ago, not much different really.

"Recruiting never stops here," Calipari said. "I'm really happy with where we are right now. If there’s anything that can help us and also help the player, then I would consider that."

Would be a ****** ending to recruiting to lose out on Mcdaniels and Blackshear after positive talk about them coming here. The last couple of seasons Cal hasn't been able to get the player we need to take us over the top.Frustrating.

This is exactly it. 2015 was a major punch in the gut and since we haven’t recovered to get the players needed to make a title run. Since then programs have hammered us when it comes to getting that final piece. As fans we are taken to the point we believe that final piece is a “done deal” then it doesn’t happen. Like I said the other day, if you hear “done deal” and nothing happens in 24 hours that’s an indicator the ship has sailed. I think fans are growingly more sick by the season to have to depend on constant revolving door of new players. Now it’s even more difficult than ever. Cal making statement that he doesn’t know why recruits would want to go elsewhere is bothersome. I take it as if he’s taking it for granted that we are entitled to players. Also his comments about zion after this season were troubling. I’m going to tell you that until he wins another title the bitter taste of 2015 will grow worse and worse by the season and major apathy well it’s already began to set it but it will get a whole lot worse.

UT has a better coach, that's pretty much it.

In what measurements of performance would this ever be true???
Final Fours?
Championships?
NCAA games?
Conference Championships?

I mean just give me one quantifiable way that Barnes is a better coach?

If you cant support your statement retract it or go away

Among the many things these other schools aside from UK can't offer Blackshear is the DAILY competition he would face in practice. Just from sheer size alone, Blackshear would face some unique skill sets from EJ, Sestina, and yes, even Big Nick! I know it's a crowded frontcourt, but man, the mutually beneficial relationship for both UK and Blackshear is just laying out there on a silver platter. Let's get this kid in blue and white!

Just let me cry for a minute! Lol. I know we have a too 5 team next year regardless, I’m just greedy and counted my chickens like a fool.

No you just want another title. Top 5 means nothing we ve had too many top 5 teams to only have one title under cal.

UF would be the most logical choice other than UK. If he goes to UT who gives up their scholarship. No doubt UT will find a way to add him even though they have no scholarships at this time.

Not from any credible source rather random newly made twitter pages. It’s either UK media wanna bes hoping to guess right or trolls who are connected to other teams. This smoke seems to have been stirred up at the nba draft and Matt Jones sounds like fanned the flames
