Ya it’s a joke we’re even debating so hard over this kid & his decision to come to the NBA factory or go to some middle tier program. UT is still a football school & he’s not Reid Travis; much more talented

Exactly!!! If the Blackshears are that dumb & gullible to buy whatever Barnes or someone is selling them about Tennessee then there is a serious lack of intelligence or laziness in truthfully studying the facts.

I think KB will be a Cat. He has to know there isn't another Coach or school that will give him a better shot at the NBA. He's been at VT for four years, good senior stats and doesn't get a sniff from the NBA.

Time for a different strategy. AD took what, fourth in shots taken? WCS was a f....n football player. He knows Cal will get him drafted. And the visit, IMO they were just tying up loose ends, he knew Cal wouldn't be there long, they know what's here, no need to hang around.

So there you go, he's a Cat!

Maybe when Cal met him on the visit, he realized KB wasn’t as good a fit as he’d hoped? So he left before the visit ended because he didn’t care if he committed or not?
Maybe, I'll be surprised if KB is a Cat..Not sure what happened, but Cal leaving as he did was odd. Cal said he's fine with what we have now. I'd say we will roll with what we have.

I’ve got two people telling me behind closed doors they know 110% KBJ is coming to U.K. I’m going to say a prayer that this happens

A neighbor who is a Vol fan mowed his grass wearing his UT cap yesterday. He doesn't normally wear that hat until the football season. Is that a sign that he knows something?

This is so stupid and embarrassing for our fanbase. No one knows what his mindset is or what appeals to him. If he doesn't come to UK than that's his choice and respect it, don't be a petulent child in chastising him and his family for it.

Tennessee makes sense because they reportedly made him "their #1 priority."

Kentucky obviously can't do that.

They also had a versatile big man who was just drafted in the first round who Blackshear plays a lot like.

So yeah, it makes sense in that way.

Most of us know that, objectively, Tennessee is probably a middle-of-the-pack SEC team even with Blackshear. He probably makes them a tournament team.

But as we've seen so many times in the past, these players don't think about things the way we do. Blackshear and his camp might believe him going to Tennessee makes them the contender he claimed he wanted to play on.

Rationally, I get all of that. I obviously still hope it's Kentucky, but it wouldn't be crazy it it ended up being the Vols.

The #1 priority thing is ridiculous.

Who wasn't making Blackshear their #1 priority? He's better today than nearly every 2019 recruit. Anyone talking to KB had him as their #1 priority.

I just don't think that's true at all.

I'm sure Kentucky was/is highly interested or Blackshear wouldn't even be in the mix, but our pitch would've been vastly different than Tennessee's.

I'm sure Kentucky's staff did all the things they usually do when a coveted player is on campus. But Cal isn't going to sit there and tell Blackshear the offense is going to revolve around him the way Tennessee can. They could've pointed at Williams and shown him how he could play, and then pointed to the void they have in their roster.

Kentucky's just in a much different situation.

UK is not for everybody. If he goes anywhere else, he may think he will be overshadowed by the talent on the roster and he will stand out at UT or anywhere else.

When I hear “top priority” I think that means this person is the recruit we want most. We’re putting more effort into that one in any ither.

Saying KB will be the star of your team isn’t the same as he’s the top priority.

Point noted.

Honestly, there is only one priority left at this point for all of these programs so he's logically the "top priority" for all. (Unless UK grabs a reclassifier.)

What I assumed when I heard that news about Tennessee is that they were going to put a kind of full court press on him. Clearly UK did that as well, but the way Tennessee can recruit is different simply because of their roster.

I maintain that Tennessee makes a lot of sense for him; when I hear people say that he just wouldn't go to Tennessee if he's smart, I personally don't buy that in this situation with this particular player. But Kentucky makes sense as well, or he wouldn't even has us on his list.

Why are yall worried? The fake insiders said it was a done deal. If he commits, they told you, if he commits to Tennessee, he changed his mind at the last minute, his parents forced him, and no one can predict these things.

I honestly do believe for whatever reason even with all this UT talk that he will be a cat. Putting all the info together based on everything that has been made public knowledge only comes to one conclusion: KBJ becoming a Kentucky Wildcat. The only really thing that concerns me with all the UT chatter is there is really no reason for a smokescreen here. This kid isn't looking for that kind of attention IMO. The way his visit happened here compared to all of his other visits is very telling. He either committed soon after arriving or got scared off soon after arriving. I do know as of the day of his visit folks around the staff where VERY confident. I haven't heard anything personal since then. Only piecing together everyone else's info. This recruitment has been extremely tight lipped from the beginning and I'm glad it's coming.to a close regardless of how it ends.
Fingers crossed for the Cats!

Williams was primarily utilized in the high/mid post, catch and face up and put it in the floor and drive it. Not sure Blackshear is that type of player so to me it’d be hard for UT to sell using him the same way. They may have guaranteed he’d be the centerpiece though

Yeah, but how does UT make sense from an NBA draft perspective?

Go to a team with a weak roster and you'll end up as the focal point of every defense you face.

NBA guys won't want to draft a guy that looks like he struggled all year.

Not to mention, he is a bit foul prone. He can hide that more on a deep roster.

I just don't see how UT makes sense at all. Barnes took 3 years to develop Williams and Schofield, Blackshear has 1 year left and is getting a late start.

Yeah, but how does UT make sense from an NBA draft perspective?

The only thing I can figure is if they convinced him they would use him like Grant Williams. Essentially let him face up more than he did at Virginia Tech and work the offense through him.

One thing to remember about Virginia Tech: that team had a lot of talent last year. Their best player was hurt for most of the year, but even without him Blackshear was a piece of the puzzle.

I imagine what he might be looking to do is either (a) be on a true contender, as he claimed; and/or (b) be the main focus on a team.

I have to believe Tennessee played up (b) while he was on his visit.

With all this said, I still hold out hope that it's Kentucky. I felt like UK was in the driver's seat with this when I heard we were getting the final visit.

UT makes no sense .UF does ,. UK does . Not UT. UT is going to suck next year and they are not a NBA factory . UF with KB would be a top 10 team or maybe even top 5 and UF has some NBA players . Not like UK but way more then UT. UT is taking a huge step back this season so it make no sense to go there .

He says he wants to win big and make the league . UT helps him with neither .

Seems like there is smoke for UT and basically none for UK at this point but that could also mean nothing. Has he actually said when he will announce?

I would say the longer it goes the less likely he comes here, I haven't said what I thought yet but I don't think he's coming here.
