IMO Blackshear had no intentions of coming here. It's just conjecture (maybe poor at that), but I think there were two things he saw from afar: the Travis situation and Blackshear's age; and that the team is going to be guard-focused and he probably envisioned himself stuck in the paint and kicking it back out for shots. It's easy to believe it could have been things like that because Calipari isn't going to "develop" him anymore at his age, he was already a known (and unwanted) commodity, and Calipari rarely has his centers out on the perimeter except for defense.
Yeah, I did feel like that in the beginning, but if you check my post the past week had given up on him being a cat. At least he was smart enough to pick FL with all the TN buzz. I mean if he wasn't coming to UK FL really had no competition. I have said for a while now if he doesn't pick UK surely he picks FL. I mean TN or ARK LOL. I think almost everyone on here had said that lately. Locked in on reclass.
I’ll eat my crow - but the info I heard numerous times was that the staff (or some on staff) felt really good about KB signing here for quite a while. Guess something happened late, or maybe they just didn’t get a good read. Or maybe my buddy is just full of ****. Is what it is.
I wasn’t really referring to your forecast, but rather that you were openly mocking me when you had presumed i was wrong.
You are among the small contingent that serves as deterrent to posting information here.
There was another poster, @gracetoyou, who had written that he wanted to “rub it on my face”. A few others, like @WallToBoogie, called me out when random people were tweeting “done deal”. Lol! I was laughing behind the scenes, but could imagine the shitstorm tee’d for me, had I been wrong. Lol!
I really don’t care, but I didn’t sign up here to engage in contentious dialogue. It’s a great place to talk basketball. I’ll stick with that - and hope to have some great conversations with you in the future.

I guess you missed the part where I defended you in one of the posts where people were badgering you about what you had posted. So no I am not in that contingent. I was excited about KB possibly coming to UK and was being more lighthearted about it and all he's guaranteed to FL, then to TN talk. Some on here said we would never get a visit. So you have to go with the info and I am always going to feel like we have a chance when we get them on campus. It didn't work out, but most have been over this for a while at this point. Mocking you LMFAO. We all get mocked when we make calls here and I'm a UK fan on a UK board. I have been mocked for talking about Dante maybe coming to UK even before KB, but at least now we are getting a visit. Of course, I know with recruiting nothing is guaranteed.
Truth is I don't think he knew until the end and I don't believe it was a done deal a month or so ago. That's what I was referring to. Hard to believe a guy that weeks ago said he was exhausted by the process just kept taking visits for fun to the exciting places of ARK, TN and KY. If it was just for trips then why not going out to the West coast or somewhere fun. If he was just doing the visits and knew where he was going I guess he is just dishonest, but probably more than you like others guessed and it worked out. When all the TN buzz started I said he has to end up at Uk or FL because they are the only two they make sense. So you're telling me that if EJ or Nick doesn't come back it's a done deal to FL still? Because what you are referencing is old post and like I had mentioned most of us knew the ship had sailed a week or so ago.

My most recent uk posts were about EJ returning, though some here may not have called that good news!
I messged a couple people about Sestina pretty early.
Ironically, my Kerry posts began with hinting about his upcoming transfer and that Kentucky would be very involved. I did not know of Florida at the time. But I posted what I knew when I learned. Some people didn’t like it. I understand. I guess had he picked differently - I’d be embraced as a Cat!
Anyway, this is what I want to avoid. The “fan of ....” label. I am an sec guy. Now there are teams within I like more than others, but even that changes- mostly due to coaches. I do really like Mike White and a couple of his assistants. But I also really liked Mark Fox, but not his replacement as much. So that one down shifted!
But I’ve been called a Texas fan, a Gator, a Jayhawk (gasp!) and a few others. Not UL yet! Lol!
As I said, I’ll stick with regular basketball talk. Trust me, it’s more enjoyable than the recruiting world. Yuck!

I think you're pretty up on Florida stuff because you're a Florida fan. And yes...I wanted to rub it in your face for that reason.
Also...I was the one posting that Florida was not out. Posted at least 2-3 times here & once or twice on HOB that Florida was not out. There was a ton of disinformation out there with KB.
No. I am not an HOB member. Aren’t you guys designated by the gold shield? Someone had told me to be ready for you to rub it in my face, per your post. I didn’t read it firsthand and didn’t even know where you had posted it.
I don’t take the board seriously. But I’d rather talk stuff I enjoy. That’s not recruiting. Those conversations never go well. Just look around! Poor Dave went from hero to goat!
Dave is no goat. he may not be a hero I don't know, but he is not a goat. (I don't have any interactions with him but I can state that.)
If the Dave you are referring to is me I don't know why the disparaging remarks about the quote done deal unquote. but distortion of what is posted happens often and I think some people thought I was the one bringing up that it was a done deal that's far from the case because I didn't know what Blackshear had done on his visit and I let it be known that I didn't know I was only posting what I read somebody else post. Somehow that got cast on me as being the perpetrator oh well it happens from time to time
