Just out of curiosity, when a kid comes for an official visit, where does the University put him up? At a hotel or a dorm? I guess the dorms are probably full during the school year, so it is probably a hotel. There is probably some NCAA rules about how much the school can spend on him, like room service, meals, etc.
Usually stay at the Hyatt which is connected to rupp arena.

Not putting words in his mouth but I think the comparison was the goal. The goal is the same and KB WILL have to do the same as those two freshman if he wants to make it to the league. Not sure freshman and grad-transfer is what he was comparing. Just my two cents.

Couldn't have said it better myself. tjay be raggin.

And for a new kid on the block , he’s pretty good at getting info. Kudos to the young man!

Jake is extremely connected. Kid has worked his way up really quickly as a recruiting guru. I would take this as best news yet on Blackshear and UK

He works part-time for the UL and the Arkansas rivals websites. Pretty crazy that this kid is just now finishing high school. Will be a freshman at UL next year. Seems to be pretty damn good at what he's doing

Florida is definitely not cut from it. They still feel very good about Blackshear and think it is only Florida or Kentucky. The NBA already has a very good read on him and a year at Kentucky will not turn him into a first rounder. If he goes to Florida he may play in G or Europe, if he goes to UK he may still end up in Europe or G.
Thanks for the update gator fan

Well let’s be honest Travis didn’t go out or won’t go in the first round
Travis wasn't going first round no matter where he went. He's a below the rim bull that can't shoot. Kerry Blackshear can shoot and he is an above the rim athlete. He just needs to develop better defensive principals and a mid-range game.

He's much closer to a PJ Washington than a Reid Travis.

All schools feel good about their chances after a visit, UK has missed out on more recruits they felt good about than they have landed. Also, all recruits say they had good time at their visit, so Blackshear may have gave the impression, to make Florida think they a chance, but other sources have heard different.

Travis wasn't 7ft either. 6-7or8 with a short reach, a little below average speed & leaping ability. Not much room in the NBA for a Travis because of the physical limitations.

Blackshear has more potential to improve his stock a little....not 1st rounder but certainly could become draftable. And yes, UK makes that more likely than Florida.

And yes, Blackshear at UK makes us a national title favorite. At Florida, he makes them a top 15-20 team. Exciting for them but not UK standards.

-Cal has a proven track record. Mike White does not.

-UK offers maximum exposure in games & practices which are OFTEN visited by NBA personnel.

-UK cultivates an atmosphere like non-other in what it takes to master your craft. That's why SGA, Herro, & Johnson went from not being in preseason mock-drafts to being in the green room. It's why Cauley-Stein went from high end 3 star player to lottery pick under Cal. It's why Towns leaped Okafor as #1 pick. It's why Booker went from an expected 2-3 year player to a early 1st rounder.

**This really should not be hard for someone in Blackshear's situation folks. No brainer! And unless he is home sick...which is very unlikely for a grad-transfer...Florida is a very diluted appeal.

Maybe lacks good common sense if he plans to attend UofL next year.

Great, nice catch on my spelling mishap.

As far as your comment about KB being in the NBA if he was anything close to PJ, you'll need to read my comment again.

I said he is "closer to PJ than he is RT".

Also, it's not like PJ is a lottery pick, he's a first rounder and in reality, KB needs polished to also be a first rounder. He has the physical tools, he just needs the right coaches and program to push him over the top.

He very well could be a first rounder next year, it wouldn't surprise me either way.

Thanks Jake, appreciate the info. But no need to pat yourself on the back with a ghost account. LOL.

Not a member, as I personally just don’t wanna pay for what I’ll find out a day later here, but I completely understand why someone that pays for that info wouldn’t wanna give it out.

I don't agree that you'd find out next day anywhere necessarily. They put out a ton of great football info that I never end up seeing anywhere else.

Yeah I understand it as well, just wait for matt Jones or ksr to claim “their sources” when it’s just one of them getting it from HOB and breaking it first.

I’m sure you’re right. I’m talking strictly basketball, however, as I don’t get into football recruiting. Too many decommitments for my liking
