News Flash! KB taking a visit to Lee's Junior College. Damn, will this travesty ever end. Everyone holding their breath please leave now and check yourself into Eastern State. Food is not very good but they have some good looking nurses, if you're in to that kind of thing.

I'll literally cry if we lose this one to Penny.

Hopefully he comes to Lexington over the weekend or Monday and commits.

Don't cry...

Who said anything about being a top coach? I surely did not. Never said a word about being a top coach in the game. He has a long way to go to get there but yeah....he had a good start.

They were 22-14 with a bunch of players Tubby recruited. I think that is doing pretty well. As much as I hate to admit it, Penny is set up for success at Memphis. Just like Cal was setup for success there. Guys who can recruit well are setup perfectly at that job and in that conference.

Let me ask you this.....

Did you see anything from last year to suggest that he won't be successful at Memphis? What did you see that suggest he will fail?

Tubby was 22-13 the year before. I think Penny had a better team and did no better with the record. Now, Tubby is a good floor general and not such a good recruiter. I will wait and see how Penny navigates this year with OADs. If he can recruit and coach as well as Tubby, he should be good.

I just think the data is weak to predict whether he fails or he succeeds. But, last year was the one year we have for him as an HC in college. You said you thought he would do well. Sorry, if I assumed your foundation for that belief was premised in something you actually witnessed on the floor.

No, not really anything I saw on the court from him. I think he knows the game, simply by being part of it his entire life. That and the fact that I think he is going to have some really good players. It's just an opinion but it's not based off of much, if anything, that I've seen on the court from him to be honest. He seems like a really smart guy and with the cast of players that he has and will be getting, I think it would be difficult to screw it up badly. So, it only seems logical that he will do well there. Definitely could be wrong though but I didnt see any red flags with him this year that makes me think he's horrible, that's for sure.

His AAU coach said that it is a pretty big thing that UK is the only school to have a pro day where all NBA teams are present. Anyone thinking he might be apprehensive about his minutes, you saw last season that Washington and Travis was on the floor most of the time if they wasn't in foul trouble. He would be on the floor most of the time, even sliding to the 4 some when Richards is in the game. This would help his opportunity of expanding his game in real time. Practicing with and against formible bigs another key in improving your game, how many teams can offer that? He has experienced a deep run in the tournament, how about a very serious championship possibility on the last go around? And who has a Kenny Payne for heavens sakes?

We could go on and on, but the scary part is, Blackshear must not care or see the advantages of being here, where he could already be getting serious binding with his teammates and getting on with upping his game. On the other side, for us, anyone that thinks we will be OK with the bigs we have, maybe for a good season, but a serious run would be with Blackshear here to give us that one big that is ultra experienced, talented and efficient.

Blackshear could be NPOY with us. He doesn’t seem to care much though and would rather go back to Blacksburg va a godforsaken place in the middle of nowhere where basketball is an afterthought

There could be more to the Blackshear not visiting Kentucky yet and this is because of the John Calipari Satellite Camps going on in June. There are 10 dates starting June 4th and this past week he had Satellite Camps from Monday thru Thursday and Blackshear had his visit scheduled with UT on Friday, June 14th. I am sure when Coach Cal gets Kerry Blackshear to Lexington he will want to be there 24x7 through the visit. There was nothing Coach Cal could do with these 10 Satellite Camps starting on June 4th and he had UF first with a Unofficial visit and then Arkansas for a Official visit and now UT on Friday, June 14th. With some of the articles we have seen online most have said that after UT that UK and TA&M would be next. The article from Jon Hale with KB's AAU Coach talked on all the positives for UK for having NBA PRO Day with all NBA teams present, Kentucky making a deep run in the NCAA Tourney and with him possibly Final Four and a National Championship, team, the facilities, the Fans, the schedule we play and playing on National TV, ESPN, and SEC networks in every game gives Blackshear clearly the school with the most positives over the other schools.
