I bet we get an announcement for UK tomorrow, once the draft is out of the way. Talk of last season will be over then and Kentucky will have the last major addition and tons of buzz for the offseason. It’s the best PR move.

This is what I'm thinking too. I don't see Blackshear committing today and the news getting lost due to the draft. Cal will ask him to wait a day or two if we're his choice.

He’s coming to UK. Sleep tight.

No one else makes a lick of sense and Florida doesn’t feel great about it anymore. He’s not going to A&M and he’s probably never going to visit Michigan. It’s down to UK and UK.
I sure hope you're right morg. I've felt like he was coming here for while, it just makes the most sense for the young man.

This is the missing piece, IMO, and UK will be in the Final Four, watch and see. [banana]:cool2:[banana]:cool2:

EwwTee has their "Bestest Team Evah" and still didn't win anything. I can see him going to Auburn before EwwTee. Here's my take, (full disclosure, this is supposition), he's visiting Mich because he promised someone early on that he would. After all Mich is THE hot take in the B?g10. He's visiting A&M as a courtesy to his old coach. And A&M is choice B1. While there he will discuss pro's and con's of places he's thinking about. If Buzz is honest, and I believe he is, he will advise KB to matriculate at UK.

Choice B2 is Florida. Hard to get over the home state draw, but Fl is VT with more emphasis on football. They'll cheer for him in half empty arenas until UK shows up for their one sell out, then completely forget about him. And it is just for 1 season.

Without blue blinders the only real choice is UK. He can get some of everything elsewhere, but at UK he gets the whole package. Florida is close enough that family can drive up for a weekend game. It's in the SEC, which is apparently something he's looking for...better competition I imagine. (ACC Homer's, you have 2 schools that dominate. Every other conference of note has 1 school that dominates, looking at you Kansas). Coaches teach players how to play to their strengths, and don't coach how to play a system. You know the litany.

Kentucky was on his mind from the start. These other schools seem to be a "well, let's see what they can offer" sort of thing. Not real players.

It's not like Kentucky got a late start here. Some felt he was a lock when he expressed his desire to transfer. I think he's just enjoying the process, but it always comes back to your first love.

UPDATE (6-20-19): Henley has since added more context since his initial report about Blackshear narrowing down his focus to Tennessee and Kentucky.

Henley added that the visit to Texas A&M is likely a “courtesy” to his former head coach and that Michigan is trying to push for a visit still.

If we get this guy, not only does it make us a serious National Title contender, it makes us the National Title favorite, in my honest opinion. I mean, this should be a simple choice..play for the National Title favorites, his best chance at the NBA is with Coach Cal (If Coach Cal can get Josh Harrellson to the NBA, he certainly can Kerry Blackshear Jr.), play for the greatest and winningest college basketball program of all time, win a lot, get playing time, etc etc
Do you have a dishonest opinion?
