Some of you folks are just merciless and heartless. That's my opinion. And yes, he's talking to you. I would love to see this kid succeed, but whether it ever happens here or not, we do owe him some support and some grace. Some here obviously believe they have a right to be cruel to him. And I suppose you do, but maybe you should ask if this were your son how you'd want him to be treated.
If he were someone's son on here I'd imagine the treatment would be the same. :)

If he can turn it around, even get it going a little then he will see the better part of this fanbase come in huge support for him. Just keep a good attitude and work your butt off, and when it starts going your way the support here will take you to the next level.

If he were my son I wouldn't be letting a documentary crew follow him around. If I were his dad I would think that might be a bit much and a distraction.
I didn't even know that was happening. I agree that needs to end if it's still ongoing. But even so, our fans should show some grace.

So the guy who chooses to run UK like a minor league NBA team bears no responsibility? Interesting.
Nobody said that. But fans are damn near just as equal if behavior will ruin recruiting, ie what keeps this program in the upper echelon.

Lol, what players are avoiding here because they might get a mean tweet on Twitter from a UK “fan” or booed once over a selfish shot after 8 bad games? If that’s the straw that broke the camel’s back, Cal needs to get himself a stronger camel.

Not saying it’s okay to boo him. But I don’t think these recruits take the fans into account all that much either way.

I ask that you take a minute and review remarks made about this kid over the last 3 weeks. I recognize it as hate or very strongly worded dislike. I am pulling for this kid in a big way. I support every kid that chooses to play for UK and I do not care who starts. I think there are about 10 posters on this board that try to outdo each other in crudeness and being mean spirited when talking about Cal and some of our players.

Is it possible for you explore the possibility that Cat fans dislike his play but hold no ill will whatsoever with him personally ? Yes you go find comments I've personally made about the kid .. but if you treat these games as a damn fashion show with different hair do's every 1-2 games and man scaped eye brows , then buckle up , some are going to poke fun at you .. hell I think he looks silly even if he was averaging 25 night. I honestly dont care what the dude looks like in the big picture .. just win.

PS Its Cal who placed him where he is .. in a tangent sorta way he is paying the sins of Cal's doing .

As I said to Lineskicat, it ain't the fans that are chasing recruits off.
Baker, Juzang and Matthews didn't transfer because they got nasty tweets directed at them.
Zion, Ben Simmons, Kuminga, Cade, Jalen Green, Anthony Edwards and every other top flight recruit that went elsewhere, didn't do so because UK fans are tough. All those dudes sat in the stands behind UK's bench and saw a coach screaming at his players and an offense that labors to do everything.
If I was a top 5 kid, I wouldn't want to be a part of that and Boston did himself no favors by coming here. It's been a disaster.

So although it is about his play, you justify remarks made about Boston by saying, he should expect ridicule because of his hair choices and, that he is paying for Cals sins. My, my, my.

Most coaches yell a lot. Hell my coach when I was like 9 yelled all the time lol. Cal does need to chill at times but he has a very short amount of time to teach these players how to play the game correctly. His way seems to work pretty well with an 80 percent win rate and like 60 percent elite 8 rate. Not to mention are kids get to the league ready to play and contribute. I truly believe if Cal had a normal offseason with this team we would be sitting here at 6 3 are 7 2 and still complaining but on are way to another nice finish. Nobody expected Boston to play this bad an inefficient I know I didn’t. I thought he would be a 16 17 ppg scorer on good percentages.

Yeah, a lot of coaches yell, but Cal takes it to another level.
Just look at the schools these top 5 transcendent players are going to (Duke, Washington, Missouri, LSU, UGA, USC, OK state, Wva… .) look at the coaches at those programs, they're not guys that get in their players faces or yell their heads off all game long. I think it's something to look at… or we can blame twitter and UK fans.

And no, I don't believe we would be at 6-3 or 7-2 right now and still, if we have to depend on Cupcake state for wins, then we ain't the gold standard.

So a bunch of you all are always railing on Gonzaga because of their schedule of cupcakes, and now you want US to play nothing but cupcakes to inflate our record? Here is a thought, how about we build a stable roster and still play the KU, UNC, Ga tech, ND's of the world, only, lets beat them, not run away from them. The Calipari Defense Ministry is out in full force. How low are some of you willing to let the program go, before asking for a change in how this program is managed? For some of you to say you are a UK fan is a falsehood, because you are willing to let us fall to Indiana status, to protect the man that has led us down this path.

The teams we lost to this year aren’t world beaters. Unless things change quick we have a bunch more losses coming.

I was his age once. Working for Uncle Sam and nobody cared about my feelings.
At that age, would you have come out spotless if a million Kentuckians had an opinion on anything you said that year?

Not saying he needs pity - he's obviously in a cushy position in many ways. But I can't be the only one who got away with some stuff at that age that wouldn't fly in his situation.

I am in the camp of booing a player is wrong. Boston came here with a documentary crew. That, in and of itself is very telling. I'm not saying he's a bad kid or that I don't like him. I want him to do well.
I just don't think he came here with the right mindset and it's showing on the court.
I actually think Cal is not doing him an favors by even bringing it up. Just ignore it. He brings it up and now it's an issue. Cal needs to shut up about it.

All of the hoopla and the recent ESPN are likely to cause Boston to feel even more pressured to prove himself, not a good combination IMO, moving forward.

Yeah okay, blah blah tell me that’s not the case with Sally’s. Plus at the end of the day NONE of you on here really knows how much fans’ behavior has an impact on recruiting. An exact quote from a parent of a recruit “Get your experience and get outta there. It disgust's me how nasty some fans can be. But I've learned this past year that black lives only matter in Lexington when you're winning championships. Sad but true ✊️🏾“ but yeah it’s not fans.

Who's "Sally's"?

So, are you the authority on what recruits and parents say? You sure are pretty critical of my thoughts.

Seriously with the black lives matter ********? Why are you playing that card? Are you saying we're racists???

You're a flippin' fool if you think UK fans are the only people that @ players on social media.

Do you live under a freaking rock? Every sports program from high school to professional has ridiculous "fanatics" that go overboard.

I mean, there are referees, coaches and family members that have had the **** kicked out of them and even killed over a game or a bad call. International soccer players have been killed by their own fans, but you, you seem to think that UK fans are being too hard on players on social media. You have no idea.

Put yourself in a players position. You can shut twitter off, but when you're on national tv and you're getting screamed at, you can't shut that off and recruits have sat right behind the bench and watched that.

I'm not saying that's the only reason (our offense isn't much for attracting recruits either), but it very well could be a big issue and possibly why we haven't landed the best from each class.

If that’s an exact quote you should have a source. Or are you just flinging mud and hoping it will stick? Google says that quote doesn’t exist.

Yeah and y’all are simple I screenshotted it from Boston Sr.’s page. The quote is from an aunt of a recruit that we are VERY much interested in. Please I wish I knew how to post it

No I don’t live under a rock but I understand perspective and am seeing the whole landscape of CBB not just from the confinesof my hometown where half the fans don’t really even know a player until he steps on campus. The average Cat fan doesn’t realize by being the biggest and loudest fanbase that they boast about having its negatives to that, voices are heightened more than ANY OTHER program. Sh#t like booing a specific player will be magnified way more. Either way booing a player that isn’t being paid is disrespectful, flat out. Some fans really think they’re bigger than the players and guess what...THEY’RE NOT. So you better stop biting the hands that feeding your entertainment before you really get what you wish for, a team of hometown kids finishing 10th in the SEC,yearly. It’s no excuse for point blank.

Go back to 2014 when the twins were freshmen and early season. Cal would scream at them, they would hang their head and pout and we lost a ton of games. Many on this board were complaining about Cal and his antics on the sideline and finally about mid season, Cal calmed down and the team starting playing better. Some players can shrug that **** off and some can’t can’t. I, for one, can’t see how acting like a wild man on the sidelines helps anybody.

Yeah, nice example. That tells me that person has no clue what's going on. Nobody is hating on BJ because he's black. I hate when that card gets played when it's not a racist situation. It tells me they don't unserstand what racism is.

At 19 years old, it's tough to handle that. Most kids today definitely aren't ready for that.

I’m not agreeing that it’s about race I’m just talking about the perspective of others, specifically parents and family of recruits. The way a lot of people/fans talked about the players with that BLM video rubbed some the wrong way. That feeling is still fresh and uncomfortable, compounding that with the boos and disrespect of the players for early struggles in a PANDEMIC year. Yes I can understand why it comes off to a parent of a kid who lives in inner city Atlanta that the fans of a good ole red state in Kentucky don’t care about their young African American players unless they’re winning. That’s the frustrating part with a lot of fans here. Can’t see things past their perspective, and if it doesn’t change more things will happen like the Hunter “Sally’s” Sallis situation. Kid was ours in the bag. Parents aren’t going to send their kids to be put through that.

Boston isn't the hand that feeds, no players qualify as "the hand that feeds". Again, UK fans aren't the only ones that @ players on social media, not even close.
Now, I would never do it and I would never boo vollege players, but it happens at every competetive sports program. Again, dudes have been beat to within an inch of their life or killed by angry fans. This is notjing.

UK was successful before BJB and it will be successful after he leaves.
