I don’t get it. What coach worth his salt doesn’t play the players that give his team the best chance to win the most. And I mean on any level from middle school on up. Time for answers to the bizarre sub patterns and bad lineups.
I didn't watch the game. Can you elaborate a little? Thanks

Yes. Cal didn’t play the players the most time that would give the best chance to win. Bizarre sub patterns and lineups throughout. Go read the post game or watch it for the press questions. But cal did say the two who played best in the first half (Toppin and Allen) didn’t start the 2nd half because he didn’t want to take anyone’s heart. So there’s that.

No one can logically say that Bj Boston wasn’t promised playing time. He’s played more minutes this year then anyone on the team. That’s not right that he gets to do that because he was a five star player. It’s obvious that’s why he’s getting to play through his mistakes and it’s not right.

He only signs elite wing forwards once every five years and he doesn't want to be known as the coach who can't produce at that position when he actually lands them.

That's my genuine guess. He's coaching on a politically correct level. Got to give Boston his minutes.

What does that even mean? Take someone’s heart?

Nothing new with nit playing the players that give you the best chance of winning. I saw that in 2015 against Wisky.

I’ve never seen a spider trying to spin something as much as Cal does. Why can’t he just come out and say it? Everybody( well almost) can see it. He’s really making himself look amazingly foolish.

Thanks for the post Jed . I said similar in other places .. today’s rotations were absolutely pathetic . We never ever play our best offensive rotation . Or at best rarely . I’ll keep stating it - Play Mintz , Allen , Jackson , Sarr and Brooks . Askew has came along far enough to play in spells . But stop this love affair with BJB .. or we die a long torturous death. Toppin can play some, but out the best offensive unit out there and leave them alone for say ... 60 seconds ? I can’t wait for Cal to be gone .. he is screwing over DA so badly I’ll never forgive him .

He didn’t mind taking Allen’s heart up until after the MSST game when he had non choice to play him. He really needs to be called to the carpet for his BS. We look our best (but still not great) when Boston isn’t on the floor. We have all year (remember Notre Dame?). His mantra of nothing is given, but earned, is total BS and this is total proof of it.

Can't score you can't win. One of our better shooters missed 4 wide open 3's today. Mintz was awful offensively. If not for Boston he would have had the worst game on the team.

Wow...and thanks. Unreal. So, thanks Toppin and Allen but some other guys I value more are fragile and I have to play them and not reward your play and effort. Just wow.

I will never claim to be a college basketball expert

but there were a few times during the game where I'd say out loud "where the F is Allen?" as I saw Boston running down the court.

I don't get it, we were in a scoring desert, the other team couldn't throw it in the ocean. Seems like a perfect time for Allen to be in the game at all times unless he needed to sub out for a breather

Even Dykes was saying he didn't feel like we had a chance without Allen on the floor.

Doesn't really matter. This team just isn't very good!
I think it does actually. The past two games there have been times that even a blind man could tell he had the wrong line up in. It has been to the point that it is almost intentional that he will not put a winning combination on the floor at times. It is perplexing to me at times. Just doesn’t make sense.

Even the media cant hide Cal forever .
I swear this was related to the fans , he will never admit the bennies know just as much as he does . But on occasion. , many times , BBN , the smartest most passionate fan base in the game knows exactly what 2 + 2 is .
he wanted to give the fans a big middle finger today . So he did .

Post game comment by Cal regarding Allen.

“We were running stuff for Dontaie and he wouldn’t shoot the ball, and that’s why I took him out the one time. We ran two things for him and he had shots, he wouldn’t take them,” Calipari said. “I’m like, ‘look, you’re in there to make shots”

color me dubious of that conversation ever happening.

I hate to say it, but I think it was a big ole middle finger and he used the Allen didn't shoot twice as his reason he's been wanting in order to pull him.

We can argue pulling Allen when he didn't do what was told but he didn't get a chance to do that until six and half minutes were gone in the second half. Allen and Toppin lead UK in the first half and the only reason UK had the lead. Neither started the second half and he wasn't in a rush to play them.

Obviously the only explanation for Boston getting so much pt is that he must be doing what is asked. I'd like to talk to the guy that told him to keep feeding the ball to the Auburn players.

Take Boston out mid way of the second half and start Allen and Toppin and UK wins that game going away.

No. There is a totally different reason sorry. Listen to Cal, and former players. I mean come on. I admire your loyalty to our coach, I really do. At some point, we all have to say ok, this is the way it is.
