I know no one will probably pay any attention to this but for anyone interested in gaining a deeper understanding of Bitcoin here are some resources. I will try to refine this a little over time.

GREAT FOUNDATIONAL UNDERSTANDING:

Robert Breedlove : Economics and philosophy, Influenced by the Austrian school of economics and Jordan Peterson

For someone with an interest in physics and a lot of time to listen to podcasts while driving or traveling I suggest this series with Michael Saylor the CEO of MicroStrategy

Dergigi:

Alex Gladstein: Human rights activist

Nic Carter:

Lyn Alden:

Greg Foss: Longtime bonds trader

Marty Bent: OIL and GAS guy

Alek Svetki:

Matt Odell: Privacy and FOSS (free open source software) advocate

So I'm completely and utterly ignorant about bitcoin but I'd like to understand more.

Where is a good place to start? Is this a good way to make money?

Once cash is worthless, Bitcoin will be worthless since it gets its value from the worthless dollar.

I think a good place to start is here: https://read.amazon.com/kp/embed?as...e=kpe&ref_=cm_sw_r_kb_dp_HNJ2TX2T0F8M179CDF7W

It is more educational about what bitcoin and the value people see in it rather than how to use it though

How you use it depends on what you are looking for out of it. If you dont really care about privacy and security I would suggest just buying and saving it through Cash App or Strike until you get uncomfortable with the amount of funds on your phone then learn how to secure it yourself.

If you want privacy and security maximized never sign up for an exchange that requires KYC, this makes bitcoin harder to use but it is possible with a little research.

lol the United states is printing money to buy its own debt and social security has 0 chance of paying back all the people that funded it
also... again... Bitcoin is not crypto.

You really should read some better articles on this stuff if you want to understand it not ******* Jacobin and an author whose other articles have nothing to do with finance or tech. Do you really believe this ****?

Bro..... calm down and refute the article's arguments. Then, you might sound more convincing. What incentive does a billionaire have in telling other people they "must" buy Bitcoin? Do you honestly think they care about your future wealth? LOL. It's funny when reading the comments under nearly every pro-Bitcoin video how similar so many of them are in trying to convince you to give your money to somebody else to "invest" it in crypto for you.

Let's see what the wealthiest investor of all time has to say about Bitcoin...

he has been a **** investor and has done nothing relevant for decades! He hustled poison like Coke and McDonalds. He is the guy that doesn't care about you!
I just spent a weekend at a freedom conference. This one has a nice intro with ya boy Buffet.

Do you want your America to care about freedom and back freedom technology or do you want them making their own CBDC surveillance money like the CCP?

YES! Bitcoin is how that happens, otherwise they continue to inflate your money away and send it around the world in trillion dollar spending packages and send all of our manufacturing over seas because its the only way to keep the dollar propped up. The reason China wants a weak currency is so they can produce ****! BECAUSE the dollar is so high we cant afford to make anything here. The government already has control of your money. Bitcoin is taking that away so you can take care of yourself!

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Robert Triffin believed the dollar could not survive as the world's reserve currency without requiring the United States to run ever-growing deficits.
  • A popular reserve currency lifts its exchange rate, which hurts the currency-issuing country's exports, leading to a trade deficit.
  • A country that issues a reserve currency must balance its interests with the responsibility to make monetary decisions that benefit other countries.
  • Another reserve currency replacing the dollar would increase borrowing costs, which could impact the United States' ability to repay debt.
  • A new international monetary system could potentially help countries maintain a reserve currency status.

Refute the article. Is Bitcoin a currency or an investment?

Yes! It can be either or both for different people.

Firstly if you watched any of the videos I just posted you will see that you there are many people using lightning to make purchases and transacting in Bitcoin. Many of these places are in third would countries where they don't have the benefits that we do. For Americans it probably should be bought and held to give to your kids so that your future generations are set for life. Many bitcoiners will spend and give away bitcoin just because they want more freedom for more people and to propagate this thing. Institutions can use it to send each other money faster and much more efficiently than the current system.

EDIT: Understand in the first video merchants are automatically increasing profits by 3% by not having to pay CC fees

Refute the article. If Bitcoin is an "investment" it is nothing more than a Ponzi scheme. If it is a currency, people would be using it as such and the price would be stable. The fact is that most who hold Bitcoin are holding it for speculative purposes. The prognosticators have failed miserably trying to predict the worth of Bitcoin in the future. They've failed because they have no clue and are just speculating. At least with stock you own part of a company that produces value and pays dividends. Bitcoin produces nothing and pays no dividends.

No one can tell the future but I can predict the value A ******* LOT! It will prove to be the most valuable asset in the world! I dont want dividends of money fresh out the money printer, I want hard sound money that isn't losing 10%+ a year.
