Only problem is that many MSU alumni’s kids are going to damn Bama or Auburn because that’s where their ‘friends’ are. Screw that, send them to State. My hope is that we will become enough of a #3 there, where that won’t be as prevalent, and perhaps we will pick off some of the other schools’ alumni’s kids to even it all out.

I’ve seen it with die hard state fans and their kids going to OM because of friends

Vestavia Hills, mountain brook, etc are nothing like Jackson.

Wonderful places.

I like Jackson but those places are super nice.

Downtown birmingham is fine during the daylight and some places are fine at night.

Some places I wouldn’t want to be alone after 515p.
Well no one is comparing them to Jackson. The apt comparison would be Madison and Ridgeland, which of course Bham burbs would win easily, and no one would argue. There’s no where in MS that would compare because MS does not have a metro with north of 1.1M people like Bham.

Jackson Metro is more comparable to Montgomery or Huntsville. And Jackson wins vs. MGM as a whole, though Montgomery’s downtown has been developed more recently and is currently better. Huntsville is a better town, but Jackson is bigger (metro areas).

UAB is one of the top med schools in the South. I might be a little biased since they did my mom's kidney transplant.
They performed both my grandmother’s and uncle’s kidney transplant as well (polycystic) - also their pediatric urology is top notch - Dr Joseph at Children’s also teaches at UAB is awesome
