UNC wasn't willing to wait for him to make this decision. But I've seen a lot of you on this board and social media express unhappiness with Pope. If your boosters really pressure your AD, you could probably force a coaching change immediately.

The UNC AD wasn't going to fire Hubert. It took the boosters saying "we will not give Hubert anymore NIL money" to force the coaching change.
Your boosters could do the same.
UK wasn’t willing to wait either, which I thought at the time and still think was very shortsighted. Let’s say you don’t get him til towards the end of the transfer portal. You burn one season, and then take off in year two. In the long run that’s better than hiring a lesser coach who may have more success year one but has a lower ceiling after that.
