The thing that’s gotten so awful about him is that his shtick is all rehearsed now. It used to come off as stream of consciousness, now it’s all preplanned drivel.

So he’s rehearsing his shtick. Phenomenal

He wasn't sure if Devin Booker went to college.
Wished Michael Jordan, one of the best 7 players of all time a happy birthday
We saw one of the 11 worse ucla possessions of all time, he was responsible for #1

His act is funny to us, but could you imagine being the guy that has to do games with him?
Poor guy has to play along with all of Bill's childish games. It's embarrassing.

He has made the end of regulation incredibly awkward by harassing the other commentator's opinion. Yikes. Clearly too biased to be doing this job.

Walton's great.

My opinion might drastically change if he ever called a game I cared about.

Walton is the worst ever. Not even close. Makes watching games he does nearly impossible. If he's not off on some rambling tangent he's going on about some irrelevant detail that has nothing to do with the game. It's sad too because Dave Pasch (his play by play guy I think) is actually very good. Walton's "Conference of Champions" crap is beyond annoying. Can't believe the Pac12 hasn't formally complained to ESPN and/or tried to get him removed from their games.

2 of my favorite comments he made on air before. He said, "I went to a Truck Stop once, it wasn't for me." Also, in last years ESPN Basketball Crossover, right before the 1st half ended he almost asked to use the bathroom on air before catching himself and said "lounge." Dave Pasch told him after that one, "I think you need to shut up now." UNC/Michigan State fans got a dose of him in their PK80 game.

If you are a stoner he is your cup of tea. If you want to enjoy a basketball game with expert commentary he is out of his league. But if you think about there are not many good commentators left. So stoners like Walton serve a purpose.

Like others have pointed out, he makes some good points sometimes, and I like the passion, but the incoherent ramblings are getting worse and worse. I don't watch basketball to hear about Bob Dylan, global warming, and the last time he took a naked hiking trip smeared with honey.

Don't care for his BB commentary, would have been an interesting guy to smoke some weed with back in the day though. I would like to listen to a game done by Walton and Bob Knight, that would be hilarious/

I believe when he was in college, Bill refused to play against Russia in an exhibition game. Don't know if he was afraid of injury or if he was making some kind of statement.

He is entertaining but he sounds like his mouth is full of vegetables.

You know how your voice sounds when the dentist puts those white things in your mouth? That's what Walton sounds like. I like him though. I think he's weird and funny.

He is entertaining for a short bit. Then I get very tired and bored with his act and just want to hear more good stuff about the game at hand. I just don't get those who think he is awesome unless they are smoking the stuff along with him and can identify with that, I just find him tiresome after I have laughed a few times from his stuff early in the game, just can't handle his routine for long periods of time.
