Have you ever seen so many oblivious people? UNC, UL and Kansas didn’t know a single thing, imagine that.
So Kansas did there due diligence with Preston and rightfully sat him but they had a guy in Gassnola that told them he was helping them get recruits and Kansas didn’t bother finding out how?
In the past that wouldn’t be good enough. The NCAA would hammer them anyways and told them they should have vetted him and made sure everything was above board.
The thing is, the NCAA does what they want. If they want to punish a program it’s not hard for them to find a reason to. If they want to let a program go they find a reason to.
Kansas fans really just need to hope they fall under the latter. Self is well liked it seems. So they’ll probably use any excuse they can to let them off the hook.

Three of the 5 schools in question are Nike schools. 1 is Under Armour and 1 is an Adidas school. This isn't an Adidas only issue.
Self knew gassnola wasn’t in that fake relationship but still let the higher ups at KU get fooled by it. So Self helped lie to his bosses and investigators
De Sousa won't play this year. Billy Preston didn't play with a lot less questions surrounding him--at the time, at least. His case wasn't insignificant, but De Sousa is a much more curious/damning case. The NCAA takes court ruling at face value.
Bill Self, and Souza himself, have stated he most likely will play (although Self himself didn't seem 100% confident). At this very moment in time, Kansas has nothing to lose saying they think he will play. Either:
1. They believe he will be cleared. Although, statements via the AD, the lower level administrator, and Self himself, hasn't given a ton of confidence to this idea. That in of itself is troubling for them.
2. They realize the gravity of the situation...That he played last year, and they're buying time because they realize/are preparing for the ensuing shitstorm. They have no reason to address the current allegations with any uncertainty because that will only cause more questions.
The NCAA will take court rulings as fact, and act accordingly. They don't have to have their own independent investigation, and why would they? The federal courts are the penultimate rule of the law.

You will probably still erroneously claim Self didn’t know players were being paid despite what the texts revealed today but the rest of America will see no way he didn’t. Oh I forgot you posted that all coaches know now in the trial thread.
