Keep going back to the lack of post season success with current staff.

If the NIL is adequate, talent is there, what else could it be.
Does "supportive of the program" mean accept the results?
Because eventually the CC effect wears off.
Dude, JJ has the best record for her first 2 years of anyone in Iowa history at nearly 74% and the preseason has them as a consensus top 10 team after taking second place in the B1G behind a dominant national champion, and yet all you do is whine and moan and act like the program has fallen off a cliff under Jensen. Nobody was happy with the way the season ended, but you always insist on ignoring any positive news or metric, because they had a horrific shooting night against Virginia and focusing solely on that.

Dude, they got absolutely SMOKED in the B1G final. That's inexcusable in any metric. Then losing on home court in the Sweet 32. Biggest upset of the 2026 WBB tourney.
JJ was elevated to HC to save the Addie Deal commitment. That worked out great. Good assts don't automatically make good HCs.
Beth effed this up.

Dude South Carolina got absolutely SMOKED by that same UCLA team in the national championship game. You should really spend more time over on the Oklahoma board where your idol Jenny B still hasn't advanced past the sweet 16 in 5 years at the helm. What a loser.

Seriously, why are you even on this board? You add nothing and are only here to spread negativity. You hate the fact that Jan has the job instead of your hero. That's not changing no matter how much you whine and cry about it. So again, why are you here?

Besides UConn's throttling of Louisville in 2013 by 33 points, the 28 point loss by South Carolina was the worst defeat in a women's NCAA championship game. That South Carolina team was the same team that dismantled #1 and previously unbeaten UConn in the second half of the semifinal game. That tells you something about that UCLA team. Yes, it was a very poor game by Iowa, but UCLA was damn good last year. You seem to focus only on the losses and not any of the many wins over top 20 teams last year.

Total nonsense. Jan's first year, they did NOT have the "horses", (players) plain and simple to compete. Last year they overachieved in the regular season, CLEARLY, other then the loss to UCLA. The second round loss was the result of the same issue we saw with the Fever where the top scorers all had a bad game at the same time. For the most part REALLY good record with marginal talent overall on the roster other than TWO games. Deal did not pan out consistently, and that left us with a mess for a go to perimeter scorer. Your "current staff" comment, your critiquing two years and the "talent" was not there in year one. Year two was somewhat better with the emergence of Ava. This year will be a measuring stick for the staff, with Ava established and a scoring 2 in Dani which we did not have last year, and true 3/4's that can play outside the lane. and a deeper bench. Pretty crazy to be critical of a staff and not give them at least a recruiting cycle of three years to build the roster.

It's not crazy. He's simply ignoring every positive and amplifying every negative to suit his agenda which amounts to the fact that he never wanted Jan to be the coach and won't be happy until she's gone. Until then he wants the team to fail.

I really don't think JJ wanted the job as HC.
But being 55/56 and family in IC...what were her options?
Not many other schools are going to hire someone that age who's never been a HC at a D1 school.
A HC is more a CEO running all facets of a program. I think losing Harmon was also huge.
JJ has seemed overwhelmed many times.
Here we are.

Yup. Here we are. Where I am is excited about this year and the future of the program. The roster is light years better than what she inherited. I hope Jan is hugely successful because that means the program is hugely successful. Go Hawks!

Your full of it, saying Jan didn't want to be the HC at Iowa. She's Iowa born and bred and has been a figure in women's basketball in the state for the last 40 some years. And Barretts done a fine job. She's the main reason we got CCWright and Dani.....

Oh, and Iowa WBB is sold out... again.
Sorry if that is inconvenient. I guess they are going to have to lose more, huh?

"That doesn't appear to be happening"? How would you know this?
With different body types you can't always be sure, but any athlete that has gone into "fitness warrior" mode is usually somewhat obvious. Physically there would be signs of lost body fat (in the face, or otherwise), and further along signs of muscle definition. Less obvious, but still clues: an athlete leaning into their fitness levels might typically be proud of the fitness work they are doing, which might come through in social media activities, diet discussion, etc. So, when I say it doesn't appear to be the case, I'm simply looking for those signs.

Stremlow is a ready example.
