Who are the biggest surprises & disappointments this week? Surprises? Leo,Lisle,Joliet Central,Westmont. Disappointments? St.Laurence,King who I thought would give Marist a game & Simeon who I thought would play Bolingbrook better though I was rooting for the Raiders

With the Catholic card not on the table, I wonder if Piron will take accountability in this loss…

he makes a lot of money coaching
This game, MC/ESL and Lena Winslow/Benet game last week is why I think the public/private debate is a crock of 💩.

More publics need to follow these programs blue prints.

This season has had a disproportionate number of surprises so far. Probably the least predictable first two weeks of any season I can remember.

I’ll give you Lena, but I’d need a more detailed explanation on how “most publics” can follow the ESL blueprint.

Biggest Disappointment was MC's play in the 1st Quarter......

Biggest Surprise was their play in the last 3 Quarters!

That first quarter will live in my memory for awhile and it is a cause for concern. I'd be more concerned if they passed or ran the ball down our throat for those 30 points but an uncharacteristic series of follies that lead to those points so hopefully that doesn't occur again.

This discussion remains entertaining to me because of the lengths some people will go to and twist themselves in order to not acknowledge what's clear.

*Private school with 6 D1 players dominates class of public schools with an enrollment up to 500 by 40 ppg*

"You guys just need to try harder and get better coaching"

But if someone with a little bit of common sense suggests that maybe that private school should request up and play public schools more similar to their potential, we get...

"...*cries* you cant expect our team of 6 D1s and other 16 good starters to actually compete against a similar team, we wouldnt get easy championships then..."

Its so disingenuous that its funny. But then sometimes the they slip up and we see why these schools duck real competition... Sandburg showed us why. What if youre not actually a great 4A team, youre an average 8A team?

The crutch that some of the public’s lean on is that they have limited finances

I then ask if they consider East St Louis a well to do suburb of a big city?
No matter what hard factual example that you give, they will always find an excuse

Plainfield East is good

Leo is solid, who has more wins this year Leo or St Laurence?

Batavia score was shocking, Rochester 60 plus offensive formations are impressive lol

Sandburg quarterback is really good and knows how to win, it’s nice to see kids play together since youth football into high school

Brother Rice probably won’t get another CPS school on their regular season schedule

Oak Lawn legit? Same as Sandburg with kids playing together since youth awesome to see.

ESL has access to funding and other resources (the full details are unknown) that no other public schools have; it is basically a private school.

And that's not taking anything away from them; it's very impressive what they've built.

You are proving my point…

ESL has NEVER been given anything EVER

Do you know what got ESL to where they are at??? HARD WORK AND REFUSING TO MAKE EXCUSES

To pretend that this “funding” just appeared out of no where that allows ESL to succeed is just as ridiculous as the people demanding to be handed some sort of result that they never desired to work for

when a team has a foundation and work ethic, opportunity finds them - ESL

when you look for meaningless excuses rather than hard work… you get a system that allows 2 win teams into the playoffs

I remember years seeing ESL play where players had different uniforms for them

We are calling Plainfield East good after wins over Argo and DLS?

Yes I would call them good. Didn’t say great but they are good. After last weeks “disappointments” I made it a point to watch them and they have good size and the running back is fast. Questionable on why their QB left from last year to be a backup at MC but who knows everyone’s situation or thinking. Plainfield East lower level running back #5 will be a player to watch. Didn’t get his name

Same thing happened last year. Started out 3-0 vs easy teams then 3 losses to good teams followed by 3 easy team wins to end the season. Flyers running clocked them in Round 1
Flyers are going to have a running clock on majority of the teams they play. They are top tier team.

Throwing 7 Td's on national TV to two of the nations top receivers pretty much answers the question why he left.
