I was 10 years old when NU went to the Rose Bowl the last time. As a life long standing non alum diehard fan, I have tried to think about the biggest games in my lifetime and outside of 95 and 96 and 2000 (some may argue the osu game a couple years ago) but this game is to go to the ROSE BOWL. NU fans should and I believe they will show up in droves for this one. Who cares what the spread is or what outsiders believe or say. We all know our Cats have brought fight to almost every game over the last 4 years. As usually, as well all know, when NU gets to the brink of something special it always seems they cant get over the hill, but they usually come damn close. At some point it will happen. Lets hope Dec 1 is our day, a landmark day, that sparks the biggest recruiting boost in program history. One time Cats!!!! This one is for all the long standing fans from near and far.

Winning this game is a lot to ask IMO. I was pretty hard on Fitz leading into the Wisconsin game as I thought that was one he needed to win and he did. Beating a loaded Urban Meyer team with NFL talent all over the place is a near impossible task.

Getting to the title game is a big step for the program regardless of what the pundits say.

It’s a tall order, but this team hung with a comparably skilled Notre Dame team that featured a very good, legitimate dual threat QB, NFL talent at RB, big fast wide receivers, an outstanding front 4, an NFL CB in Love, and a great kicker. Like ND, tOSU has more playmakers at skill positions. But disciplined play, fewer mistakes, and turnovers could key an NU victory.

A lot of this game depends on what Ohio State does. Do we get the undisciplined OSU team that should have lost to Maryland? They are one poorly executed Maryland two-point conversion play away from not even being in the playoff discusssion. Or do we get the focused, scary OSU team that dismantled Harbag and company? We shall see.

It's the biggest game since the 1996 Rose Bowl.

And a win would be arguably the greatest or among the greatest wins in the modern era of Northwestern football; right there alongside 1995 ND or Michigan.

We're facing a loaded 11 win Ohio State team with the Rose Bowl on the line for us and the playoff/Rose Bowl on the line for them.

Yes, they've been inconsistent, but they have the talent to just run over anybody offensively (put up the biggest point total against Michigan ever).

The stakes don't get much bigger than that. It is a tall order to beat them, but it's doable.

We have the ability to hang with anyone if we play a perfect game on both sides of the ball. We need a strong clean game across the board.

I'd feel better about our chances if we had a few more 2-stars on the roster.
