Indiana I understand. What's up with Purdue?

I think he's referring to Frost saying Purdue was a winnable game last year. Then they came in, 1-3, and beat Nebraska by 2 TDs.
Yes, for further context, we had just been run off the field at Michigan, so playing another struggling team in Lincoln seemed "winnable," meaning we had a shot. THE NERVE!!!

For sure. And funny thing is if you read Purdue's media this week, they called us a "winnable game." The way it's written seems like a similar context to us coming off Michigan last year and not jabbing back at us from last year:

"After the two winnable games against Nebraska and Northwestern, things get much more difficult for Purdue. Following another bye week, Purdue will travel to Madison to take on Wisconsin..."

Sadly, Nebraska is a winnable game for all teams on the schedule, hope that changes in the next few years. :(

Purdue fans didn't get to upset about it. Most didn't even know and it wasn't much of a discussion. IU fans are dragging this out. And it's nothing.

Thought this was a poll about birth weights.

I was going to write in Wisconsin.

Probably Nebraska, take your beating like adults, quit crying already.
Thank you, may I have another? Aka Purdue 2019 football season. Another common phrase, hey look, another injury. Another? We started how many freshman?

Not everyone outside of Nebraska is enamored with, respects, or fawns over Coach Frost. When he says things like he oftendoes, it’s easy to see how it comes off poorly, why other feel it motivates, or even scoff at what he says.
We just get stuck in our confirmation biased as they do theirs.

personally, I believe it means virtually nothing once a game begins, nor should he care what opponents think.

but it is understandable how fans of opponents could be rubbed the wrong way with how he elects to communicate through the media.

just beat em, then move on, then what they are offended by will be of little consequence and not worth a dang thing

Both were minor comments by Frost but why does he even need to make those minor comments??

His players are following his lead.

We aren’t good enough to be giving any team extra motivation no matter how minor it may seem at the time.

From the top down, we need to just shut our mouths & prove something on the field.

This is all pretty weak sauce. These programs basically reinforce the idea of them being lesser programs because they use this little stuff as motivation and then crow about it afterward. Big-time programs don't have fragile egos who get upset at every little perceived slight and certainly don't make a big deal about it afterward. Bottom line-don't want to be perceived a lesser program, then don't act like one.

Just saw one of Purdues RBs said, "we can find holes in their D to run on". Why isn't Frost making this bulletin board material? o_ORollingLaughNebraska may very well now be one of those programs, but I think some lower level schools use this harmless talk and flip it upside down as a way to motivate their pathetic teams. For Indiana it worked

Well, when you give up 177 yards a game and there is game film, it's not exactly a secret.

One day you hillbillies are gonna understand that you don’t talk like that in our conference. Be you Nebraska, Michigan or anyone else. It’s a conservative conference where, even if you are Michigan, you wave and smile and say “well Rutgers and their coaching staff should be a big challenge for us, they do a great job in Piscataway.”

You’re going to take my post as an insult, but I mean it literally. One day you’ll be in another doozy of a season for frost.. where he keeps opening his mouth, and you’ll realize that flag after flag keeps coming and it will hit you. “This would stop if he’d shut the **** up and if he and we would act humble like EVERYONE ELSE in this conference does.”

Until you all get it, expect for the oddest funniest things to keep happening. Lol

The day the 11 of us that were here before expansion come to Nebraska looking to get the money that comes with joining YOUR conference will be the day we need you

So are you a fan of Indiana or Purdue? That will help answer the OP’s question.

I never take being called a hillbilly as an insult. Why would anyone think otherwise?

Peace, my brother.

Hillbillies? LOL. The biggest bunch of hillbillies I've seen east of the Mississippi resides in southern Indiana. Life in southern Indiana makes Deliverance seem like a family movie. Your elitist view of yourself is laughable.

The cool thing about him being your brother from Indiana is that he could also be your uncle, cousin AND daddy all at the same time.......... Think about that one for a minute.

It seems people don't know what hillbillies are? Hillbillies live in the Appalachian Mountians and West Virginia.

Rednecks are flatlanders.

Exactly. That sums up about half the people in North Florida from my years in Gainesville. Flattest countryside on earth. Tons of rednecks.

Right, thats my point. It is a true statement. Teams like Indiana take this type of stuff and run with it to motivate. Most other schools wouldn't give it a 2nd thought. I doubt Nebraska cares what Purdue says about them.

Bulletin board material is BS. It’s not a real motivator and doesn’t matter. People like to bring it up after they’ve won, but it doesn’t really make a team play better or harder. The Big10 is just filled with a bunch crybabies.

The disrespect card gets played all the time. Why give the other team any ammunition....seems dumb.

Frost needs to sign up for Coach Speak 101 next term.
Maybe so, but the difference with Frost - he has played the game at the highest level (college) unlike a lot of these other so-called coaches. So he can walk the walk as well as talk the talk. Harbough and Brohm were excellent players as well.

Just a guess, but I am going to say the babies are about the same size in each of the cities mentioned.
