Yep, that gives WVU 7 years to get their academics to a respectable level in order to join the ACC. We're looking forward to it.

Hope so! I would be the first to celebrate WVU back playing the teams they should be playing. Besides Oklahoma and Texas the rest of their schedule only matters to homers. It's a dumb schedule(not their fault) and makes no sense.

Agree. Obviously, P5 money is great, but everything else about being in the Big12 has to ******* suck.

Amazing how some folks seem to think that anyone WVU plays and loses to...is the best competition at the moment. Or, maybe it is a question of game prep? Dunno....

wonder how the mouths endlessly bashing the BIG 12 are going to explain away the G5 schedule in a few years once they've succeeded in helping break up the conference WVU is in?

Once we brake up the Big 12, we will move on to even greater events.

So when we join the ACC in 2024, will the ACC go to 3 divisions? Coastal, Atlantic, and Big East (L'ville, Pitt, Cuse, VT, Syr, BC, WVU, Miami)?

By the way... I lurk more than post... but somehow in the changeover to the new message boards, it reset me as "freshman" and shows me with 10 posts. But I have been on here for years. Now it shows my username as my moniker. Not sure why I went back to 0 posts.

On average more fans come from Ames Iowa, Lawrence Kansas, Manhattan Kansas, Oklahoma, or Texas to New Mountaineer Field than came 70 miles south from that 'rival' in Pittsburgh, PA.

And don't even go with those 'rivals' in Syracuse or Boston, they always saved their $$$$ and stayed home too.

Plus, the Big 12 fans treat WVU fans with respect, unlike the uppity Big East fans of yore. We never got so many compliments from visitors as we have since joining the Big 12. Classier conference of fans.

If we do join the ACC in 2024 or whenever....do we have to be involved in a major scandal like most of the ACC before we can join? You know...FSU (Free shoes)...Miami (pretty much anything from the last 30 years)...North Carolina (academic fraud)...Georgia Tech (illegal recruiting)...Clemson (recruiting violations)...etc, etc, etc....well....you get the drift.

The invitation to Louisville totally demolishes the argument that academics play any role in conference affiliation.

So true. The acc elitists have a serious case of smug alert. Sec is the more preferred landing spot next time around.

Louisvilles academics are noticeably better than WVU's, but they do need to improve and that has been made mandatory by the ACC offices.
