i guess you missed how loaded our team is with talent
the ignorance of trolls never ceases to amaze me
We have a loaded team every year, at least we think we do in August and September.

But I don't understand why you're calling him a troll. What did he say that was false?

Cal did luck out by getting Mitchell and he did mismanage the portal. So how is @ukjenning44 an "ignorant troll"? All he did was post his opinion.

Jack Pilgrim threw in something today on KSR that caught my attention. He said, "He has submitted 2 different tests, both with different results. One of them he passed but it was red flagged for a reason we don't need to get into. The other was considered a fail."

That's the first time I've heard anything like that.
I recall early on, someone (Pilgrim, Jones, or Tucker) reported that Z originally submitted test results that were not accepted by UK. I took that to mean he submitted a test given by another university. I don't recall the details and I could be wrong, but something along those lines was reported.

Yea the first test he passed, but UK would not accept it. He took the test UK does accept, and passed everything except the reading section. According to Pilgrim. BigZ is dyslexic, and did not receive the allowable accommodations during the 2nd test.

Right, this is what I was talking about. Where I'm unclear, is why UK didn’t accept the first test. I thought it was because it wasn't a test UK recognized, or accepted, maybe it was a test given by a 3rd party.

Was considered? It either was or wasn't. When did tests become that open to interpretation?

So because he didn't get accommodations UK is basically saying "Piss off?" I want to know who administered that test then, because if it was a US company, they broke the law. If he officially has dyslexia, that is protected by the ADA. And US companies and institutions have to abide by it as long as the accommodation is reasonable (i.e. they can't be forced to spend millions on one person).

A couple of things here. First, many in the Admissions department hate athletics, all athletics. They are liberal elites that want a public means to make a statement. The impact on this is bigger than Z. This will inhibit our ability to recruit foreign players, inhibit our ability to get future coaches (who wants to take a job to fight Admissions to get recruits), and behind the scenes minor things have been happening for a while. This is just the first really visible situation. Lastly, Z failed the test due to a handicap. Obviously, UK has NO problem discriminating against people with learning disabilities. And yes, Capaluto could put an end to this today….
I heard they were neocons that don’t want studdnt immigration.

This Big Z eligibility FUBAR is the biggest fiasco I have observed in my 70 years( I go back to the Bill Spivey/ Shelby Linville 51 championship team) of following the cats. I have no inside information but I do not believe this situation was caused by some nameless, faceless overzealous bureaucrat in the admissions office. There is obviously a CYA effort going on to obscure the anti Z position taken by either members of the coaching staff or more likely by certain team members. I remember that certain team member's "camps" were very upset that UK was on the verge of signing Dickinson and were hinting that certain members would transfer if this happened. Does anyone know how the commitment of Z was received by the team. THis entire situation can be summarized in three words: Male Bovine Feculum!
The so called liberals are not against athletics at all. This is just more right wing bunk and get a life or get some help.

This is insane and absurd at the same time. Who gives a rats rectum if he can read English. He isnt coming here to get a degree or even go to school for thst matter , he is coming to play basketball for one season. The term student athelete became an anachronism when NIL started. These kids are getting paid big bucks to play for us. This is semi pro basketball ,people need to put aside the notion that is ANYTHING ELSE

There are once powerful forces that have to sit on their hands and watch this clownshow of a coach do whatever the hell he wants because of the rediculous contract. They have to be very frustrated. Powerful people do not like being in a situation such as this.
well, then I guess it serves their entitled powerful selves right. Good! LMAO the poor powerful frustrated folks, lmao!!! Top of the list of things not to be concerned about!

Ugo is a nice backup, but Bradshaw is extremely important to this team.

However, it is the guards and wings that are going to be the determining factor. Cal needs to utilize what he has out of his pg's, 2's and 3's. Spread the floor, shoot and attack.

But yeah, Bradshaw, Ugo and Mitchell are going to need to be huge.

I guess I'm going on the thought that Bradshaw is going to be good to go. Ugo, eh, I'm not sure, but he's a year away from being a key piece.

This situation is frankly nothing less than an atrocity. If he was from any of the select countries, this test wouldn't even be a requirement. Why are some countries on a list and others aren't? On its face that's arbitrary, without even getting into the learning disability portion.

This and the at least two instances where football couldn't get a transfers credits transferred tells me this is nothing more than a power play by academia targeting revenue sports. I bet if it was a women's soccer player, the admission would've been rubber stamped long ago.

Which countries are the select ones, and which ones are blacklisted?

LOL. I guess you have somehow missed how many times CCC has pissed away results and done less with more “loaded talent”? More than any other coach in America and it’s not even close! But hey, “We’re Young”, so I guess it’s ok.

Duke will take Z in a New York second.

Maybe the administration is tired of Cal using the university as a basketball factory. Even Z stated the reason to go to UK is to get a shot at the NBA. It wasn't to better himself nor was it to pursue a degree. It could be the academicians are fighting back.

He would be here a year at most. Maybe two. Let's be real. Athletes, especially ones that are pro bound, are not coming to get a degree. At least not right away.

What if he cheated on one of the tests or was suspected, people in the athletic department said it’s not worth the risk to let him play because “a dude overseas cheating to get into Kentucky” sounds about right for a good scandal. Sandy Bell type ish. Or maybe academics saw something that didn’t add up, but at the same time nobody wanted to make the kid look too bad. And that’s just a what if. I have no idea. Sucks. Stupid.

The transfers weren't the problem.
Askew and Boston weren't transfers.
What did Oscar do that cost UK in either year he was here?
How many points did Tyty score in the Saint Peters game?
Seems like the freshmen screwed the pooch as often, or more often than the transfers.

But there's only 1 common denominator. Can you figure out who that is?

So are you claiming the title?😁
Wait a minute, Doc ... Is there going to be an award ? If so you need to let the rest of us know, lest the title be bestowed too hastily. :) But with that said, let me hasten to add that neither would I ever even think about holding up Big Z just to spite CCC !
